What film did you watch last night?

I watched Whiplash last night 9/10 - another excellent film. Really good character driven story about obsession and the drive for perfection at all costs.

Dalton was the best Bond and the only Bond who's films I have on DVD. I can't stand Moore's Bond at all. The others I have no strong feelings either way.

To be fair, whilst Roger Moore films were silly, the films introduced spectacular set pieces, stunts which were the real deal. For example, Moonraker as a film is comical, however the opening sequence is quite something. These sort of stunts are fewer and far between, nowadays it tends to be CGI.

Whereas Pearce Brosnan 007 films, the latter films especially such as 'Die Another Day' is shocking.

Timothy Dalton is my favourite, Daniel Craig a close second, Sean Connery was awesome however, Diamonds are Forever was awful.

Back on thread, iPlayer has shown some decent films lately 'A Simple Plan' (never heard of it before and discovered by chance) understandably compared to Fargo, a decent thriller and well worth a watch 8/10.

I like how BBC are showing some Hammer horror films, Wake Wood is pretty good - 7.5/10.

watched Foxcatcher, not quite sure what to make of it really.
Did it keep me interested till the end? suppose so.
Would I watch it again? no.

Probably going to be one of those films that'll pick up a few Oscars for the performances but that's all it'll be remembered for .

would give it a 6/10

Finally got round to watching Gravity 3D on my TV, visually stunning but had me arguing with the physics :D 7/10

I'd like to see a sequel based on how the world would handle loss of all satellite coms / GPS etc :)

2 Guns - 6/10

I like Denzel Washington and Mark Wahlburg. Good, solid action film.

The Lego Movie - 7/10

Everything is awesome! 10 minutes in and I nearly switched off. Stuck with it and actually really enjoyed it. I liked the last 15 minutes and thought it was pretty true to life.

Would agree with the above, when The Lego Movie first started I was questioning what I was watching and wondering why it was so highly rated but come the end of the movie I had a big smile on my face and I'd definitely enjoyed it :)

Dumb and Dumber To... Why oh why on earth did I watch this... Just don't... Really... Don't!

I was going to give it 1/10 because of the 1 solitude genuine laugh I had but then I remembered a gross bit and marked it down half a point...

0.5/10

Adding this link to Honest Trailer for the film that is very accurate. http://youtu.be/7SCBl_SkWq8

Jupiter Ascending. Great visuals, but they really needed to work more on the script and characters. The ending totally sucked ass. It could have been so much more, but ends up falling into the "meh" catagory.

Have to agree it was a truly awful film! Made me cringe god knows how many time!

Enjoyed it! Had tears at the trapped in the car fart gag, finding the diamonds and loads of references to the first one!

Not a patch on the first one and my God they have gotten old!! But 0.5? Really? No way! 6/10 from me.

Interstellar, 4/10.

Another **** film with rave reviews. Good sci fi films are becoming a very, very rare breed.

No character development - odd considering the number of years that pass.
The story lacks momentum and goes nowhere.
Laughable scientific concepts , such as the depiction of the planets near the black hole or 'love transcends time and space', just like that other pretentious turd, Cloud Atlas.
Forced acting.

I could go on but I'd just get frustrated as I can't stop thinking about the 3 hours of my life that have been wasted forever.

Agreed, yes it was a bit of a retread but was really enjoyable. Loved the split screen of the old/new movies during the end credits. Made me realise my age a bit though.

Yeah Wes Anderson films have a quirky quality to them and a cinematic style which is immediately recognisable , another one of his to watch if you liked Grand Budapest is called Moonrise Kingdom, its 3 or 4 years old now, has Bill Murray and Bruce Willis in it, amongst some other cameos.

Moonrise Kingdom is one of the best looking films I've ever seen.

I haven't seen Budapest Hotel yet, or Moonrise Kingdom for that matter, so the best Wes Anderson film for me so far is The Darjeeling Limited.

Timothy Dalton's is very much like Daniel Craig's Bond i think..

Very Hard... believably "hard" More realistic.. If that is possible :P

Roger Moore is my generations Bond. I will always have a soft spot for Moonraker and A View to a Kill but i despise Octopussy to the point where i'll turn it off.

I Really didn't like Skyfall. I was bored senseless by the whole ending sequence. A real low point for Bond films. The next better be better.

I really didn't like the back third of Skyfall. I keep getting into arguments with the wife over it, haha. As much as anything, it bugs me that he's busy killing folk in the UK, but he works for MI6 so I'm not sure he has any authority to do that on these shores...

I agree with you about Craig and Dalton being palpably tougher. Craig's first 5 minutes kicking ass in the bogs at the start of Casino Royale are spectacular.
