What film did you watch last night?

John Wick.

I really liked it, just good solid action fun. I have to say though, I think perhaps Keanu isn't quite as good and quick on the martial arts as he thinks he is? Maybe I'm being super-harsh.. The moves he was doing were great but not really that fast?

Well, he is 50… He'll not be as fast and sharp as he was in The Matrix.

I heard that the film makers specifically wanted Keanu Reeves because he'd look like someone who knew what he was doing but was out of practise.

You mean for his acting ability?

Wasn't he trained by some special martial arts guy for The Matrix films?

Second Hobbit film extended edition: 8/10. Liked it a lot better than the first. Still hate the way it's filmed compared with LotR but still very enjoyable.

Time for the third.

John Wick

9/10

Epic action film, does everything you want and cheesy as I expected. One of the best action films made.
Gets extra respect for the amount of gun reloading and fumbling (not an untouchable action character).
Will watch again.

Totally agree with you. There is room for spin offs as well with whole continental hotel and assassins.

Fast and Furious 7. I really enjoyed it a solid 8/10 for me. I thought the ending was very well handled and good non-stop action for the rest.

And that lass who starts the race wars. OMG I want!

Villain (1971). As much as I love Richard Burton, this was one role that I felt he didn't really pull off that well. His cockney accent is not good, and although the film had some reasonably decent moments, it has to be the poorest one of his I've seen yet (5/10). Had he used his usual charming, enigmatic address, I think it would have worked much better than a welsh / cockney one. Good performances by Ian McShane and Donald Sinden.

Camp X Ray

Decent film about a relationship between a prison guard at Guantanamo Bay and a prisoner. Bit slow at times.

Thanks for this, I watched and thought it was fantastic, about time they made the US Army look like the bad guys as it's always the opposite, and just goes to show that GITMO should be dismantled and removed, as no detainee there has ever been tried or convicted of any crime and it's sickening to see that the US has secured release for over 70 inmates in 2007 but yet they are still rotting there?!

8/10 Film for me.

Avengers: Age of Ultron.

Awesome film if you're a comic book fan, or liked the first one, nice action, good effects, reasonable story and a few surprises.

8/10

And with that I think i'm off to bed, as I caught the 00:01 showing and only just got home.

Ok, cup of tea, then bed:p
