What film did you watch last night?

Avengers :Age of Ultron

Had a blast watching this. Started off with all out action and the trailer bits made more sense now with the fights between members.

The team just got much bigger, with particular interest in Vision for me.

Coherence - 7 / 10

Enjoyable Sci-fi film, in the old fashioned sense of pure story driven with no sfx, about a group of friends having a dinner party when strange things happen due to a comet passing the earth

Afflicted - 7.5 / 10

Very good horror/thriller about two friends embarking on a year round the world trip. One because he has an aneurism and the other to film it all. So it's in the shakey hand cam type of film with a good twist on the horror genre

Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015) - 8/10

Great action scenes and spectacular special effects with a strong cast of characters and actors who manage to show both the superhero and human sides to their characters. The plot is typically extravagant, but fits in nicely to the greater plot arc, and the comedic one liners are used well. Although different enough, it does become quite samey, especially when compared to the Avengers’ previous outing.

Avengers: Age of Ultron - 8/10

Really enjoyed it. And for one appreciated the extra comedy. My favourite of the bunch I think.

Just watched The Exorcist for the first time in about 20 years. I think I was 15/16 when I saw it last, on super dodgy vhs on a teeny crt tv.

So going from that memory of it to a spangly bluray version on a nice Kuro with a respectable sound setup, is a nice change. Also, it turns out that my memory of The Exorcist is complete balls. Half remembered scenes in completely the wrong order or things that I appear to have just made up...

But it is a superb film. It is a cinematic masterpiece and deserves all the recognition it gets. I wouldn't go as far as Dr Kermode and declare it the greatest film of all time, but it really is extremely good.

I really should buy the bluray set of this and the extended version.

Saw Jupiter Ascending...

The film is a bit ridiculous for the most part but the SFX were cool and Mila Kunis so that evened out :p

Avengers: Age of Ultron - Was impressed with this, liked the interaction and think that they make a good team, funny enough and a very good looking film. Possibly not quite as good as the first but very close. 4/5

Guardians is still my favourite Marvel film.

Selma (2014)

A chronicle of Martin Luther King's campaign to secure equal voting rights via an epic march from Selma to Montgomery, Alabama in 1965

Fantastic and powerful film but utterly depressing that this happened only 50 years ago :(

Highly recommended
