What film did you watch last night?

[Steampunk]

Drive (with the original soundtrack, not that BBC DJ abortion). Fantastic film. Almost a character study. A thoughtful, almost still (at times) film, punctuated by car chases and extreme graphic violence. The soundtrack is the stitching that holds the movie together.

Much shorter than I remember, but that might be because they cut bits to stick more adverts in. Probably about the 4th time I've watched it, and it still entertains.

I've never known anyone, beyond this forum, who thinks Chronicles is even close to PB.

I prefer chronicles to pitch black. Technically yes pitch black is a good film but I am not a fan of the horror genre at all, where as chronicles of riddick is just a good fun easily rewatchable space sci-fi. The last one however was just drivel.

Really enjoyed it when I thought I wouldn't. The guy who played the conductor was excellent. Ended a little abruptly but I've no complaints, an excellent film.

I saw this also. Would agree with your score. Excellent nuanced performances from the two main characters.

Urgh, pitch black was a great film. Both sequels are terrible. Silly martian invaders in daft uniforms with a cheesy plot 'he's a holy half dead that has seen the underverse' erm yeah okay lol.

Paul - Pegg and Frost do America and pick up an alien hitchhiker, some good chuckles along the way. 4/5

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - Andy Serkis does motion capture again which is nice but the film, whilst good, didn't grab me like Rise. Enjoyable though. 3/5

We watched Oculus a couple of nights back, a fairly good horror with some bits we didn't see coming at first.

Pretty good film, I think Depp played the sinister character well and enjoyed the tense tone throughout.

Inside Out

After looking forward to this for so long, it fell pretty flat in terms of my enjoyment from animated films.

Much of it was actually pretty bleak/depressing, especially when 4 of the 5 emotions have negative connotations. The peaking in to other character minds was by far the most entertaining part of the film for me, and as such I could only muster 6/10 for this.
