Star Wars Force Awakens

I'm going to give this a 6.5/10 , didnt live up to the hype for me, had too many similarities plot wise to the original film and had some dubious plotholes.

Sort of wish I had waited til Friday for this weeks Cinema trip so that I could have watched The Hateful Eight or waited a bit longer and gone to see The Revenant

2010: The Year We Make Contact (1984) - 7/10 - Not sure I'd be brave enough to say this without the anonymity that the internet provides but I liked this a quite lot more than 2001, plus it wrapped things up nicely, which is ideal for me.

The ship is practical but everything else at sea is greenscreen.

I enjoyed the 2010 more also. 2001 has several memorable moments, and one or two great moments (that everybody knows).

But 2010 is more my kind of film. Would probably give it a slightly higher mark than you, 8/10 for me. Agree that 2001 is about 6/10.

Just watched American Ultra, i think Jesse Eisenberg and Kristen Stewart work well together, liked the story and the action wasn't bad, a decent film to pass the time.

World War Z 6.5/10

What even was that! The scale was impressive, but it was all so unlikely and so much unexplained nonsense just to move the plot along.

Fast & furious 7, utterly redonkulous but still good fun 7/10

Million Dollar Baby (2004) - A boxing Movie. Phenomenal performances from Hilary Swank and Clint Eastwood. Nice to see Morgan Freeman stage Clint. Oh man Clint is such a character and sublime actor, I don't think there'll be another like him. The film had an excellent build up and what happens really pulls on your heart strings.

This film really does show up Southpaw - that film lacked any real depth and feel for the characters which MDB has in spades. A must watch. 9/10

The Color of Money (1986) - Pool hustling movie. It's fun to see Tom Cruise and Mary Elizabeth so young. And Paul Newman...what a smooth and cool character. Great film 7.5/10

Quite disturbing really, all the so called people who were supposed to look after her, her farther for one, just seemed like a money grabbing git who fed of her fame. So sad in the end. Worth a watch even if you are not a fan.

I'm not a fan, but I taped it last night.

Senna was made by the same guy who did Amy, and is well worth a watch if you've not seen it.
