What film did you watch last night?

Sisters .. 7/10

Forced to watch it to keep in the good books,
wouldnt have been my choice but for what it was its pretty good .

The Hateful Eight - 3/10 - 60 minute non-stop dialog single set stage play padded to unbearable 3 hours by pointlessly repeating N word just to keep the viewer awake. I'll be brutally honest - if Tarantino's name wasn't on the cover, this would be straight to Film 4 production and 90% of people would change the channel after 15 minutes. Shooting it in 70mm was about as necessary as releasing Paris Hilton on 180 gram vinyl.

I couldn't fault the actors performances, and I liked the intensity of the claustrophobic nature, with them all in the one room. What didn't make it as memorable as other Tarantino films was the lack of memorable soundtrack.

As for filming it in ultra panavision I certainly appreciated watching it at the cinema especially the big scenic shots.

The iceman - 7/10 - pretty good movie based on the life of the iceman assassin.

Jurassic World - 8/10 - 2nd viewing but still thoroughly enjoyed it despite plot holes.

Terminator Genysis - 8/10 - 2nd viewing again and imo it was decent attempt

The Intern.

Saw this with the other half, is it just me that feels its beneath DeNiro do be doing these sort of films?

6/10 purely for the workaholics guys being involved.

I thought this was a really good film. Don't understand why you feel it is beneath him. DeNiro is a great actor and has proved time and time again, just how talented he is. I thought he was perfect for the part. I think a lot of people tend to forget just how good a comedy actor he is. It may not of been one of his best films, but it was still enjoyable.

Yeah, but all he really does is pull that frowny-face of his, and Anne Hathaway acts him off the screen. I just find him to be super-bland in almost everything he does now, especially the lightweight comedy stuff. Quite frankly, I've enjoyed him more in Stardust than anything else recently, when he's hamming it up like a pantomime dame. Just look at Silver Linings Playbook when Cooper and Lawrence act him into a very distant third place.

It's almost like he's got to the stage where he's just collecting paychecks whilst phoning in the performances and no-ones going to complain because, well you know, he's DeNiro!

Don't get me wrong I think DeNiro is one of the very best but this film just seemed to undeliver. I probably watched it with a closed mind to be fair.

I mean what a silly ending when she just forgives her husband for cheating just like that

Agreed he is a great actor, I think his acting in Meet the Parents/Fockers was great as well.

The Revenant - 7/10

The bear scene was fantastic, brutal!

Memento (2000) - A pretty cool film and something quite different. Guy Pearce was great and it was nice to see Carrie-Anne Moss after a long time.

7.5/10

Another one ticked off my must-watch list.
