What film did you watch last night?

Body of Lies

6/10

Fairly dull story I thought. DiCaprio is always very watchable though. Crowe's character was just ridiculous.

Coherence

An odd but cool idea. But didn't like the ending, and even the rest of the film. I think missed the mark. Shame as the concept is amazing. 7/10

I agree with this. I really liked the concept and most of the film but the ending was just awful.

Fury Road - 9/10
Really great film, brilliant action all the way through and simple but compelling story. So much better watching it in 2D on my small TV than the 3D I had to endure at the cinema.

Meet the Spartans

A spoof send-up of 300 containing all the obvious jokes about the Spartans being gay along with a host of cultural references and a certain amount of sending-up the dire production values of the movie. Kevin Sorbo couldn't save this one, it's funny in places but the laughs just don't come frequently enough and it doesn't work as a film in its own right. Some of the jokes might have been funny when it was made but simply seen mean now (i.e. the various attacks on Britney Spears's mental breakdown).

3/10

Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) - I liked this odd little film a lot. The story didn't really grab me but the little incidentals did, the opening scene with him hovering a foot off the ground set the scene well. I loved the cinematography though and the long takes put me in mind of the long ones in Children of Men and it was the same guy. Reading about the film and the initial idea of shooting it in one take was interesting too. 4/5

Pulp Fiction. Tarantino will never better this. The closing scene in the diner is superb. The dialogue is excellent from start to finish.

Agreed.

John Wick, fantastic action film, one thing I noticed, is he actually reloads regularly, also though he can't act, that character is suited to him 7/10
