What film did you watch last night?

Watched The Rack Pack, only available on iplayer, a great film about the early days of 1980's snooker. If you like snooker it is worth a watch, just to see what a total numpty Steve Davis was. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p03bv0t5/the-rack-pack

Saw this the other night as well. Loved it!

In particular, I thought the chap that played White did so very well, though that said, they all played their parts superbly.

The brunette? She was in Lemony Snickett as a girl and then I've not seen her in anything sense.

Go grab a copy of 'Sucker Punch' on Blu-ray, switch your brain off and enjoy. :D

Sucker Punch...just visual pornography...not that i'm complaining. Must give it another watch some day, didn't think it was as bad as a lot of people made out.

Creed 5/10

I thought Stallones performance was great in this film. The film itself is a bit by the numbers though and doesnt match up to the rocky films. It's still a decent watch just for Stallones performance.

Heading to see Revenant later today.

Started watching that on Prime a month or so ago. It lost me a bit after 20 minutes or so and I gave up. Does it pick up a bit after that?

The revenant. Was good but very grim. Struggled with it a little bit. I don't think it should run away with best picture. Made me feel cold all the way through it!

Sucker Punch can be quite a difficult film to understand - but it all does make sense in the end (imo).

I agree with SixTwoSix, I didn't think it was as bad as others made out it was. Then again, I watched it thinking it was going to be bad.

I mean; Emily Browning dressed in a a short skirt and pigtails chopping things up with a samurai sword...what's not to like? :D

Creed - 3/10 Just didn't connect at all, sure the Rocky series have always been corny but they had character, this struck me (non intentional pun) as a boxing movie by the numbers.

Legend - 5/10 Thought TH did a good job with the material, wasn't really any story as such, limped along until the end.

Hateful 8 - 8/10 I loved it, I really didn't mind the initial slow pacing as I enjoyed watching Kurt Russell, could have done without Tim Roth who was terrible.

Spectre - 3/10 As I lovingly call it Septic, what a **** Bond movie, how can we go from the brilliance of Casino Royale to this is beyond me.

LOL... WOW that's not obvious at all where they are from! ;)

Agreed, It got a load of flack and I think its unwarranted. I have watched it a few times and still enjoy it.

Coherence (2013) - 6/10 - I dunno maybe I'll have to watch it again cause I stopped half way through and returned to it again 12 hours later and just wasn't feeling it.

These Final Hours
A self-obsessed young man makes his way to the party-to-end-all-parties on the last day on Earth, but ends up saving the life of a little girl searching for her father. Their relationship ultimately leads him on the path to redemption.
5/5 cheap, and poor, apart from the party scene with so many super hot half naked girls.

The Sand
After an all-night graduation beach party, a group of hung-over twenty-somethings awake to a beating sun, and a seemingly carnivorous beach that devours anything with a heartbeat that touches the sand.
again very cheap and equally poor, with less attractive girls. well just your bog standard cheerleader type.
4/10

Sounds like you want YouPorn or something :p Less awful plots and bad acting, more of the sort of girls you appear to be after ;)

Everest on Blu-ray. Fantastic picture and surround sound (especially during the snow scenes). Filmed as a movie rather than a "mockumentary" but not over-dramatized and certainly none of the more outlandish elements (nitro glycerine!) that Vertical Limit and to some extent K2 suffered from.

Very moving story, only ever been an armchair climber myself but you can see the elements of disaster falling into place then share the hopelessness of those stranded on the mountain. Presumably some artistic licence taken with the exact nature of events but people just falling off in an extreme state of hypoxia or hypothermia rather than a blood curdling scream and swan drive seems more like what would happen in reality.

Thoroughly recommended and at just under two hours (minus titles) doesn't outstay its welcome.

Everest is garbage.

Even the people that were there actually think the same.

But did the people that were there see the film as a form of entertainment (1st priority) in a movie context. or did they see it as a re-enactment fact for fact of actual events?

Something tells me that no one who was there would think the film terribly entertaining :p

And never mind how accurate it was, I thought it was rubbish as well. None of the characters were remotely sympathetic. They were all foolhardy idiots and I didn't feel sorry for them when everything went wrong.

Oh well...

Still better than Vertical Limit though surely, carrying poorly stored nitro up the hill in a backpack after leaping out of helicopter. Did have my favourite line though, from the Pakistani colonel... "Time to wake up the Indians."
