What film did you watch last night?

I've seen this, not bad but also I don't think it's 8/10 but give it credit that it's not forgettable like a lot of movies.

One thing I fear is the new Cloverfield film is too similar to this, without the brutality.

If I would have seen trailers it would have been a 7, I went in completely expecting it to be typical and predictable like most films these days so it gets an extra point for the surprise factor

I can't remember the door ever being explained properly because the one flash back had the gang enter peacefully. It only kicked off after they entered and exchanged dialogue with the owner. The one guy made it out and was shot through the door but that was it.

Which is how it got damaged, then towards the end because it's damaged it's one if many reasons he knows the owner is dead. Along with the chair being covered, the stew and everything else that doesn't fit.

Doesn't seem you paid attention.

Yeah I got all that the first time which is why I watched it a second time thinking I must have missed something vital. Unfortunately it wasn't the case - the truth is it's just a shallow and poorly executed story/film. Overly simplified, unimaginative and quite predictable at times. I wish it wasn't.. I was looking forward to it ever since it was first mentioned. Major let down :(

Kingsman - 8/10. Superb film.

The Force Awakens - 7.5/10. It was very good; I was expecting a phoned in performance by Harrison Ford but he did a great job. Adam Driver and Oscar Isaac are excellent. Visually, it is stunning to watch.

Mad Max - 7/10. Epic stunt's, great audio. I presume Tom Hardy was told to Bane it up (distracting), and always love Charlize Theron :).

The Lobster 8/10

Really enjoyed this, It was a bit like watching a theatre production.I'm not the biggest fan of colin but he played this perfect as did everyone else i just thought the ending let it down, but jeez i don't think a film has come near this for shocking me one minute and having me laughing the next.

On hateful 8 i only found two characters out of place and that's Tim Roth and the woman from death proof who seemed to play the exact same part but with different era clothing on. brilliant film and loved every minute of it, especially Sams story

Well I watched Everest with the GF last weekend and would give it a fair 6/10. Had to go back and re-watch half of it cos well - netflix and chill ;)

GF went to bed before the end and glad she did because it actually made me cry.

Personally, I understood they screwed up. I got the two guys probably wouldn't have died had the organiser dude not given in. I got the whole thing was a mistake from the start.

I saw Everest (I enjoy mountainous movies). 6/10.

Though, I preferred Vertical Limit (which has a similar theme).
The other mountain/rock climbing movie which comes to mind is Cliffhanger, which was awesome.

The Revenant. Really enjoyed this although the other half didn't I'd give it a solid 8 or possibly even 9/10. The cinematography is amazing. It kind of makes me want to be out in the wilderness...

Tom Hardy was superb, and seeing what DiCaprio went through on the filming of this was quite eye opening.

The Lobster

Weird and hilarious.
Ending was a bit off, but other than that, I liked the concept and delivery.

Definitely not a film for everyone.

When did Farrell get dat dere gut?

And all of the climbing films mentioned in the previous posts pale into insignificance compared to Touching the Void.

I liked the ending.

Did he gouge his eyes out and stay with her or disappear off into life?

we get to choose.
