What film did you watch last night?

The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. Perfectly serviceable. Dev Patel has charm coming out of his ears, the aging British cast are more than capable of this sort of thing, it's got a decent number of laughs, and it looks great. It's insubstantial fluff, sure, but it works well enough.

Nightcrawler

Watched this again tonight. Amazing how Jake Gyllenhaal manages to portray the sociopath in this movie as an empty vessel. I think there's only one or two scenes in the whole movie where he displays any emotion.

Nightcrawler was a 9/10 for us.

Silver linings playbook 6/10.

The 33. 7/10.

Solid movie about the Chilean miners trapped in the San Jose mine in 2010. It was a great story to work with and the mine collapse scene is particularly good.

Seven Psychopaths - 5/10.

Didn't enjoy this all that much. Found Sam Rockwell's character irritating and fell asleep at one point, though the car exploding scene woke me up :p

The man from uncle.

Couldn't get in to it at all, normally a big fan of Guy Richie's directorial.

Seemed to be too much style over substance, the style being not all that great, couldn't connect to the characters or the plot.

Strange how it rates quite highly, been looking forward to watching it for a while.

Odd.
