What film did you watch last night?

Also watched this the other night. Who can't like Jim Carrey.

Me too, I think I saw it on Prime, would explain a ten year old film suddenly being popular.

As said, two leads were good, film fine. Did spot Danny Wallace at the bar which was a nice nod. 3/5

Been watching a few of movies over last week, didn't watch many in 2015 so have some time to watch a few.

The Martian, couldn't see where it was going early on but they pulled off a good movie, Matt Damon is a bit to celeb maybe, maybe not. 8/10

The Reverant, Dicaprio must have got an Oscar for saying the least ever in a movie, not sure it was totally deserved. Overall fine movie, makes you understand why America has an obsession with guns and the 2nd amendment. 8/10

The Big Short, good enough, seen a few financial movies, I think this one still added something to the table, tried to explain as cleary as possible the root of the crash, good acting. 6.5/10

Kill list, is this movie necessary, I assume Ben Wheatley and Amy Jump have a lot of issues.

John Wicks, awfull.

Lone survivor, pretty solid film, 7/10.

Not sure how many lines DiCaprio has in The Revenant, but Anthony Hopkins got the Oscar for best actor as Hannibal Lecter in Silence of the Lambs with just 16 minutes screen time and barely 100 lines.

Anyway.

We saw Kung Fu Panda 3 yesterday. It looks great and it's got a great voice cast but ultimately there's nothing to it. It got a few laughs out of the kids, though.

Daddy's Home (2015 ) 6/10

Random watch last night. I was expecting a bubblegum movie, and this is exactly what we got.

Not great, but certainly not bad. No real laugh out loud moments, but entertaining throughout.

Will Ferrell (who I usually find hilarious) was ok in it. Seemed a little downbeat.

Anomalisa

Strange at times, with an incredibly simple premise which manages to be very complex simultaneously. Really enjoyed it, but it's not as good as some of Kauffmans other work (Synecdoche New York, Being John Malkovich etc)

8/10

Deadpool

It felt like a cross between The Mask and Spawn but with some more fruitier language in it. The interaction with the blind black woman was genuinely funny, but the film slowed during the last third of it and the climax didn't feel err climactic. A reasonable enough romp all the same.

6 (maybe a 7) out of 10

Just got back from Hail Ceasar, absolutley dire film. Wanted to walk out 30 minutes in.

2/10

Yup, felt the same. So unbelievably unfunny. I never laughed once, not even a smirk. Bored the whole way through. I started to think if there was some sort of in-joke that I just wasn't getting....but there isn't.

Eddie the Eagle - 8/10

A really heart-warming story about an underdog ski jumper.

Saw it tonight as well and before I get snitched on....again....cineworld unlimited screening. It certainly soared higher than many other films I've seen lately. Ripped a little from Cool Runnings but that's no bad thing. Loved it, 8/10.

Heh, didn't you hear.. they mentioned a Jamaican bob sled team over the radio and i though Cool Runnings!

Man i felt teary eyed at the father son reunion...

Just finished watching The Man from Uncle.
It's pretty enough to watch, but the whole thing is one long misfire, the characters don't really spark off each other and things that should be funny aren't for some reason.

A mediocre 5 outta 10.

men of Honour, an absolutely brilliant classic.
And also makes me think how awful even modern history is. We've come a long way in a short time.
