What film did you watch last night?

Gladiator 7/10

Not the Russell Crow roman epic, but the 1992 boxing movie starting Cuba Gooding Jnr and James Marshell. Brian Dennehy was in it as well. Really enjoyed this movie, very gritty.

Magnificent Seven:- 8/10 Not as good as The good, the bad and the Ugly but still a great Western. Amazing cast.

X-men Apoc. Pretty good and way better than the car crash that is BvS. Easily 7/10. not quite as good as Civil War but still worth a watch IMO.

Only thing is
I agree Jackman is too old now, especially as a younger Wolverine. I'd have liked a bit more back story about the other Horsemen as well. Psylocke was completely wasted although it was interesting she didn't turn and managed to escape. Storm we know about, Angel to a certain extent as well. Fassbender was superb as well.

The Brothers Grimsby (2016) 8/10

Standard action/comedy affair but with a number of absolutely laugh your backside off scenes.

'The Elephant Scene' has to be one of the funniest scenes I have seen in years, I actually had tears streaming down my face. Also the 'Poison Dart' scene and the 'Maid' scene stand out.

Just remembering the elephant scene makes me laugh!

I haven't seen this yet, but just reading your post is making me smile. They say laughter is infectious, and it seems that it's starting to catch already. :D

13 Hours

If I hadn't know this was a Michael Bay movie first, I would not have known it from watching it. This is the most un-Michael Bay movie Michael Bay has ever done. Apart from a couple of little traits that he does, i.e. bomb dropping from the sky like Pearl Harbor, this is a pretty good movie. It's a bit long but I found it tense when it needs to, good sense of danger, and decent acting throughout from some unknowns as well.

Not as good as Black Hawk Down but I say it is a good effort.

A solid 7/10, 8/10 if it was edited a bit tighter.

Bo66y - Fascinating documentary with some great footage. Keeps your attention from start to finish and is a fitting tribute to the country's greatest footballer. 8/10

Yeah it's a truly awful film really but the stupidly funny sections just make it so watchable

I'm torn between 2/10 and 8/10 :p

Sicario. Set in Mexico but filmed in Nicaragua because of the Muslims, this gritty tale in the popular and well established CIA/FBI/gangland thriller genre brings us face to face with the kingpin of the infamous Mexican paellas and their deadly drug trade.

Inspired by the 1995 Spanish hit of the same name, Denis Villeneuve joins forces with Basil Iwank to deliver a stunning cinematic spectacle augmented by the musical genius of Jóhann H. Jóhannssonson. This is a bilingual movie, but subtitles are provided when Mexican is spoken.

Keep your eyes peeled for a neat little cameo by Raoul 'Sol' Trujillo!

9.5/10.

Saw this last night, fully enjoyed it.
It's a long movie, nearly 2.5hrs but the time flew by watching it.
Lot's of action and good script.
Well worth a watch.

I'm tempted to give it 8/10, but the constant sentimentality thing with the phone calls and FaceTime with family got a bit too much. It's okay but I found that was a sprinkle too much.

Nightcrawler. Odd one this, as though I can tell in many ways its a good, well made film with good performances (and I really like Jake Gyllenhaal) I absolutely hated it. It was Jake's Lou character that turned me off the most, he was so unsympathetically weird and freakish, that I felt totally disconnected and turned off (I guess you were supposed to to some extent). My wife felt totally different and really like it.

4/10....
