What film did you watch last night?

Saw passengers the other day.

Flawed but entertaining enough.

6/10

Also tried to watch Lincoln. I don't like to give up on a film, but after an hour of watching lots of bearded men stand around talking politics we just had to call it a day. Boring beyond belief.

Says a lot about you...:p

Passengers was dross...crud, and one of the funniest films I have seen due to it being so bad.:p

I listen to Kermode Evans Mayo every week, if I have a long journey I'll listen to Filmspotting.

Wittertainment Weekly is excellent , pleased we have more members of the church here! Keep mean to email in more.

Also; Filmspotting is good, Empire can be a little hit and miss.

I think kermode is on the pay cheque train with a certain agenda...

... And what would that be?

Hello Jason Issacs ;)

Filmspotting is REALLY in-depth but some of their movies are way obscure into I've never even heard of. I think they intentionally stay away from large studio mainstream blockbusters, beside a mention of a release, they will for example never talk about Transformers.

I loved their discussion a couple of years ago on John Hughes' The Breakfast Club, really insightful, from character discussions to how they explain on the way the camera is framed each shot and its purpose. If I were to studying filmmaking, that is a must listen every week.

Wittertainment is just funny, often unintentional but that's what I like about it, the people who write in also are all on their level too, love some of the letters.

Star Wars - The Force Awakens.

Really really enjoyed this the 2nd time around. Fun film.

First time I saw this was on a cruise ship open air cinema (south china sea) and I promptly fell asleep (Too much Grey Goose - those drinks packages can be bloody lethal) Wife loved it then and she still wants a BB8 (almost tempted for £75 at ToysRus TBH)

Passengers - 6/10

I was entertained enough, it looked great and I could watch Chris Pratt and the lovely Jennifer Lawrence in anything (I may have added a point or two simply for Miss Lawrence just looking good). Ended up all a bit silly though with a weird script at certain points. I doubt i'd watch it again unless to re-visit the visuals.

Hacksaw ridge 8/10. Very entertaining. Enjoyed the training camp with Vince Vaughn as the Sergeant. His nicknames for the squad members were brilliant.

I think I'll see this tonight, looking forward to it as I've only heard good things

So I watched Hidden Figures last night. I thought it was pretty good actually, very heartwarming (a couple of tears were shed). I did however think that it fell a little flat. There was barely any real development of any characters, not even the lead ladies. Neither Kevin Costner's nor Jim Parsons' characters were anything special, they just seemed to be the filler characters to exercise the double standards that the film required. The lead's performances were well done however and it was an enjoyable film that I'd be happy to watch again.

6/10
