What film did you watch last night?

Watched this last night and apart from a few good action sequences it was a little bit boring, 6/10. Only thing that stuck out for me was why did they ride horses up to the snowy coven and where did they trot off to after? :).

Does KB still look hot ?

Hacksaw Ridge

A bit generic as far as war films go, there's an actor in it who's totally out of place which felt a bit weird, (you'll know who when you see it) but overall gets better as it goes. The visuals/sounds are certainly first-rate.

Nocturnal Animals - Amy Adams

Lasted all of 60 seconds.

Why ????? just why???? , just don't start this film whilst eating, whats seen CANNOT be unseen

I saw this at the cinema, on the BIG screen....this was my thoughts.

Knowing pretty much nothing about this, not even after listening to Kermode's review, except there are 3 kinda parallel stories going on.

Errrr, it's a thinker movie alright.

First. WTF is with that intro. I went into the theatre at 10:50pm, the only person in the entire cinema, got there literally the last second of the trailer finished and the BBFC title rolled up. Got my phone out to turn it off and looked up and saw WTF.....Totally unexpected and WTF....there has got to be meaning to the movie....but if someone know....please let me.

As for the rest of the movie, beautifully shot, beautifully scored, acted and directed. When it finished, at 1am....i actually sat in my seat thinking about what i had just seen and i am still thinking about it now.

It's not a fast paced movie but it is edited very very well together, all 3 stories tied together in the end brilliantly and 2 hours flew by.

The more I think about it, the better this movie gets, a real think piece.

9/10

I found Nocturnal Animals extremely boring. I wanted to like the characters, but none of them seems to have any likeability, so naturally I didn't root for any of them.

The whole thing felt too artificial, and that's sad given I know how solid the main cast are in other roles in other movies. I expected more.

The whole thing is artificial, Tom Ford is a fashion designer and you can see his traits through out, each frame is designed to death and it is the style he is after. One can appreciate it or reject it. I found it different but not dislikable.

A well designed pretentious dress...

I can appreciate the technical aspects but I just thought all the characters were vile....I understand this was the point of the movie but it failed for me due to not giving one bit of a **** about any of the characters...

The ending was just "so what" for me...

Turning it off after 60 seconds is comedy gold tho...But each to their own.

I appreciate genuine art in film and TV. Hannibal is a prime example of how immense effort into producing every inch of a scene from the colours to the materials of props used come together to create an ambience along with the direction and writing that creates characters that are likeable.

Nocturnal Animals is too clinical, and lacked the above as far as I'm concerned. I know who Tom Ford is, but had no idea he was behind this movie as I read very little about it before watching it (prefer it this way as I can go in somewhat open minded).

Spotlight - true story of the Boston Globe story about child sex abuse in the Roman Catholic Church. Did a good job of showing the frustration of the reporters when everyone else just kept saying it was only a few bad apples. Crazy. Also scary how 2001 looked so old with all of the big beige monitors on everyone's desk. 4/5

The Purge was rubbish but a good concept. Purge 2 and 3 are a lot better than the original as they use the concept properley.

Just seen the second and it's just as utterly ***** as the first one. :p Filled to the brim with completely unrealistic characters, it came across as more of a joke film rather than anything even slightly serious.

All those weird people at the auction reminded me of Sander Cohen out of Bioshock.

Split 10/10

Without a doubt the greatest ending to a movie I've ever seen. I knew something was coming but I would never have predicted that. I had to pick my jaw off the floor before leaving the cinema.

I know it is subjective but come on!

It's is subjective you're absolutely right and most films I find personally struggle to finish well. This one blindsided me big time and I loved it but yes this is just my personal opinion and shouldn't be taken as anything more.
