What film did you watch last night?

Kick ass

I was expecting a very different movie after seeing the adverts, it was more of a gore fest in a parts than a comedy. Tbh i don't think i really laughed once.

6/10

Legion and Daybreakers.

Both boring, predictable Hollywood rubbish. 3/10.

I had high hopes for both after seeing the trailers as well :(.

The Book of Eli

Very good, really liked it. If it's comparable, I thought it was better than The Road both plot & action wise :)

7.8/10

Yeah I watched it last night and liked it too, I really liked the plot device with the book though I think his "powers" were slightly overplayed. An explanation about other religious texts would have been nice too.

Submerged (2005) - I'm still on the fence with this one. Seen it twice now and still don't know if I actually like it or just watch it because I had nothing else to watch!!

Warrior King

Good movie with some nice fight scenes but not as good as Ong-Bak

8/10

Dragon Tiger Gate

8/10

Felon

Quite liked it, but then again I also enjoyed the Prison Break series and other films focused around prison.

Worth a watch with a small twist at the end.

Went in with the kids this afternoon to see Iron Man 2.

Still got most of the magic that made the first film so great.

You liked the first film, it won't disapoint if all you're looking for is more of the same.

Last night's quadruple feature:

7/10 - Better than I remember it, still manages to scare me, a must for anyone into Asian horror.

10/10 - Another great film from QT. I must've seen this at least 16 times and I could quite happily watch it again right now.

6/10 - QT's weakest movie, imo. A few funny moments but overall it feels a little weak in terms of execution.

7/10 - Boobs and blood, what else do you need? Special effects are pretty dated but not a bad offering from Roth.

Just watched avatar.
Kept an open mind etc. Got into it.

To about half of the film I somehow loved it, I enjoyed the filming and CGI. I loved the idea and the story. I got completely into it until it went downhill, badly:

Couple of wtf moments like a guy completely forgetting his real life, it's not his body he's controlling, how can you throw away like, idk, 30 years of living, after 3 months ? I know you can fly and stuff and walk again but WTF, you're still a human...
The first major wtf moment is when the ( alien) girl of jake sully started to like him, the whole eye contact scenes before were already ''ah god damn it, I knew it'' and finally mating was already wtf. Of course they were destined to fall in love from first sight .
The 2nd wtf, Michelle Rodriguez turning back and saying ''I didn't sign up for this ****'', of course it had to be her turning back .
Then the big yellow/red dragon and the population suddenly trusting him for it.
After that the movie got sillier and sillier to cartoon levels of stupidity.

When the end battle starts after a couple of mins in ( when michelle rodrigez shoots the big airship thing of the colonel), I stopped watching, I couldn't watch it anymore, I tried skipping the annoying bits, but the ending really annoys me too much, so dumb...

Overall 4/10, the ending ruins it. 2/10 for the 2nd half of the movie ( aside from a couple of nice shots, this actually winds me up and annoy me rather than entertaining me), 9/10 for the first half. I feel I have underrated the film but I can't deny that I can't even finish watching it, because I got so annoyed from the 2nd half of the film, such a shame, could have been so much better.
