What film did you watch last night?

The Go-Go’s 8/10.

A documentary about The Go-Go’s, funnily enough, and as I was very much into them in the early 80’s, I found it very interesting.

Inception. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt1375666/

After having tried to get to grips with it on several occasions, I've at last finished watching it the whole way through.

I was struggling to find something to watch last night and thought that I'd give this yet another go (must be at least the fourth time).
I think it might have worked out better this time because I simply let the information just flow over me; I didn't try to grasp everything that was going on at all times.
Some great appearances by top-class names and never a dull moment. Very glad I saw it. Great music, too.

I loved the look and overall appearance of the world that Dom and Mal had created.

A Quiet Place.

Not being able to make noise really ramps up the suspense, had me quite stressed out by the time it finished lol.
Thats the name of the game though, I like movies that leave an impression

The Predator 2018, what the hell was that... Felt like a cheesy spin off from the 2007 version AvP2. Yet they said it was a continuation from 87. Erm... No.

What is it about 87 that looks so much better? There is an organic look to the picture versus todays films. Todays films are waaaay too pristine. Not only that the acting and soundtrack was so much better in 87. I really love the look of the old films.

I remember watching Predator all those years ago with my Mum and Dad, and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Fantastic movie memories.

Those were the times when you hired a VHS cassette out of the local video store. :D

Not getting any hits in the thread on Israel ...

Roman J Israel - lovely script, nice to see Denzel in a vulnerable role, his characters high IQ, quick witted rapport had elements of 'faster'.
memorable line "there's nothing else between being an underwear model and an activist lawyer"
8/10
It could be his chef-d'oeuvre. - Malcom X required a different skillset in comparison

Mission Impossible: Fallout

Watched it again the other day. Forgot what a genuinely great movie this is. Cruise is flawless, Cavill is a great addition too. The stunts, theme music, locations......just all first class. It also doesn't have that almost 'silly' edge to it that some of the others did.

Greyhound

It was good, but not a lot really happened. You seem to join a convoy in the Atlantic and see how they get on, and can't even remember if you see them make it across. It just sort of ends when they are out of danger.
It's worth a watch I would say but it's far from the most memorable war movie ever. It did give quite an appreciation of what people on the boats went through trying to avoid the hidden killers that are the submarines.

Anyone got any films they rate 10/10 and would highly recommend

Giving 10s out is very difficult but I'd highly recommend all of the following if you somehow haven't seen them, maybe due to their age :-

12 Angry Men
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
The Lives of Others
