What film did you watch last night?

Maybe i've misunderstood which villain you were referring to in Solo? Who did you mean when you said "One moment towards the end left me rather confused about a certain villain making a little brief appearance because I don't remember seeing him in any of the other films"

Feel free to spoiler tag it :D

Ahh I see what you mean now!

I know the villain was Darth Maul who was the lower ranking baddie in Phantom Menace but I thought Obi Wan killed him and I don't remember him popping up in any of the Rey films so it seemed strange to have him have a rather pointless cameo at the end

All makes sense now.

It took me by surprise as well, although i've been told anyone familiar with clone wars shouldn't have been surprised. However as I said earlier, was very underwhelmed with the few seasons I watched considering how much SW fans rave about it.

Are you going to dip into Mandalorian & Boba Fett between ROTJ and TFA?

Probably not as we've not long finished Boba Fett and as much as we enjoyed Mandalorian I'm not sure we want to watch it again just yet. It was actually at the end of Boba Fett we realised while we enjoy Star Wars, we haven't actually watched all of the films. So It's more just about filling in most of the blanks. Realised how many little throw backs there are that had we watched the films first would've been a nice nod to the films

A Walk Among the Tombstones. https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0365907/

I think I've seen bits of it before but a lot of it I didn't recall, so I'm not sure.

Anyway, I really quite enjoyed this. A tense and gradual unfolding of events, making a decent choice for lovers of crime/mysteries and thrillers.

One of the better Neeson movies, IMO.

That's fair, just wasn't sure what had sparked you to watch through the movies and whether you wanted to be completionist about it.

I enjoyed Mandalorian as a single watch but have no desire to rewatch, I can't see that changing, it's good overall, occasionally great, a couple of atrocious episodes - adequate 5PM Saturday night entertainment as another poster referred to it as.

I'm still trying to find the urge to continue past episode 3 of Boba Fett, it's just bland inoffensive content that adds nothing of interest to the existing movies/TV.

I'd advise carrying on with Boba Fett. I think Episodes 4-7 are quite good. Though it may be episodes 5-7. Either way, episode 4 or 5 and the series really picks up. It is quite boring up until that point though. Prior to watching it I was wondering why the cast this old Kiwi bloke as he was dry as dry could be. Watching Attack of the Clones cleared that up!

Will be watching a New Hope this evening.

Ahh, are they worth watching? I'm not a Star Wars super-fan so it doesn't entirely matter to me but just curious as the last time I saw them, they were free falling.

The Clone Wars had some terrible episodes (Bomb Bad Jedi) and some absolutely amazing ones (too many to list). When it's great, it's truly impressive but when it's had, it's awfully. It does get better as it goes along so try and get through the poor episodes in the first season (although the Malevolence arc is great).
Rebels is kind of the same. There are several episodes which are brilliant and just stunning to watch. Then there are some - particularly early ones - that are so cartoonish it's like watching Scooby-Doo.

One I'll probably watch by myself!

A New Hope. Keeping in line with the others still a 6-7/10. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be for a near 50 year old film but it appears that they've updated the CGI in places which probably went a fair way to make it not look so old. Solid story overall but I feel the whole Death Star ending was wrapped up a little bit too quickly. The lightsaber battle between Obi Wan and Vader was really underwhelming after watching the more recent fights. It gave me the vibe of seeing two kids playing with those swimming foam noodle things or broomsticks.

Looking forward to Empire Strikes back tomorrow

My D+ sub runs out today so i'll pick it up again some point in the future probably - I normally dip in and out for a month every 6-8 months. The marvel/SW shows are not worth the sub price at current quality :(

Serenity - after Rewatching Firefly on Disney Plus it made sense to watch this, found it on Netflix (obviously not on D+ due to the whole reason it is a film and not a second series). Anyway nice finish but would have preferred a series... 4/5

@SixTwoSix - Yeah Disney+ can be a bit hit or miss. Value wise. But it's got all of the X Files on and we've been going through that as well so for now it's worth it. I am also a chump who pays for it yearly!

Ah, sounds like me and Prime, pay for it yearly, more for the delivery though, also, I find more to watch on Prime than Netflix these days, the latter of which really is the Mcdonalds of content atm.

I did start a rewatch of The X-Files with my missus a year or two back as she'd never seen it entirely, that was on Prime though too.

The Harder They Fall

A considerably more enjoyable Western this time. Appealing aesthetics and stylish violence combine with a fairly traditional revenge story told in classic Western fashion that comes close to being a great film. But it is too slow through the second act and I'm docking a mark for having one of my least favourite, and overused, clichés as a final twist.

7/10 Worth a watch.

Snatch.

Never seen before so all new. I enjoyed it and didnt predict the ending at all. 8/10

My kids have discovered The Simpsons so its a godsend for us. We are on season 10 lol.

Cyrano (2021) - 10/10

A brilliant production with marvelous sets, great songs and a superb epic love story filled with romance, wit and emotion.

There’s a good mix of musical and acting performances with some entertaining dance sequences and fight scenes, but the ending was rather upsetting.

Thoroughly enjoyable throughout.
