What film did you watch last night?

The Call - 7/10

A phone connects two different people at different times. Starts off well but the 3rd act is a bit messy, especially when dealing with causality of altering history. Has a very disappointing post-credit ending.

Batman 3/10. Emo/Twilight that wants to slit it's wrists so badly but feels that's not bad enough. It doesn't work if both the actor plays emo rather than driven by vengeance back-up by the plot that is written to emphasise emo.. Not Jeffery Wright's best role either.

The Lovebirds - 6/10

Netflix. Exactly what it said on the tin (and what the reviews said). Entirely forgettable but completely entertaining at the same time. Kumail N is just too funny, I love his style. I actually laughed out loud a couple of times which doesn't happen often.

Caught the second half of Man of Fire, remembering liking this film but my God the editing is some of the worst/most annoying I've ever seen. It makes a modern music video look tame in comparison.

The first one? I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it.

I'm yet to finish the second but I'm not as keen on it for sure.

Yea the first one, Definetely better than the 2nd one, uncaged, i suppose your right, in terms of underwater, shark action it's definetely worth a watch, now onto a schwarzenneger film tonight that ive never seen before, early 90's Total Recall

Also features one of the meanest villains in cinema ;)
Haha. The feather scene is perfect.

Enjoy the three tiddies!

I did mean Jenny but mostly tongue in cheek.

She refuses his romantic advances again and again until she has AIDS and willingly sleeps with him at that point
I don't think Jenny sleeps with him after she's diagnosed with the (then unknown) HIV.

Jenny considers herself unworthy of any love because of the abuse she suffered as a child at the hands of her father. She knows she's broken and keeps leaving Forest because she doesn't want to drag him down to what she considers her level. It's only when she has a child that she offers and gains unconditional love, and has someone else to live for that she understands she's more than just a broken child grown into a broken woman.

It's funny how many people see this film (myself included) really dislike Jenny for her comings and goings, her inability to commit, etc, but when it's explained from her point of view, she's really a character in need of help and sympathy to overcome her trauma and damage, which Forest eventually does
by loving her, giving her a child, and eventually marrying her.
