What film did you watch last night?

Emily the Criminal - 7/10

"Saddled with student debt and unable to find work, a college graduate becomes involved in a credit card scam, acting as a dummy shopper and buying increasingly risky products with stolen credit cards" I think it's better than it sounds, although IMDb's summary is overly dramatic - "Down on her luck and saddled with debt, Emily gets involved in a credit card scam that pulls her into the criminal underworld of Los Angeles, ultimately leading to deadly consequences."

Was good, but seemed a little short and simple. I don't know I've seen Aubrey Plaza outside of Parks and Rec, but I think she did a good job.

The Avengers - 7/10

Not bad at all, special effects were excellent as always. Seems I'm getting used to Iron Man now, he wasn't such a nob in this one. :D I'm annoyed that the Hulk film is missing from Disney+ so I haven't seen his origin film but good to see him in this one, I wonder why they changed actors. Next up tonight is Thor The Dark World.

Think I might keep this Disney+ going, there seems to be such a ton of stuff on there to watch. I haven't even started on any of the Star Wars stuff yet.

Are you genuinely experiencing the MCU for the first time? That's pretty amazing.

Couple of Danish films. The innocents, which is a cool little psychological horror-ish film about young kids who find out they have powers. Reminds me a lot of the film Chronicle but younger kids and less 'big'.

The other one was Speak No Evil which is the most gripping, disturbing film I've seen in a while. About a Danish family that meet a family on holiday and go and stay with them.

Alien - 10/10

Watched it last night, in the dark, in an empty house. Even though I've seen it many tens of times, every time I heard the slightest noise (be it the boiler firing up, the wind blowing the trees) I was jumping out of my seat. There is something about the alien xenomorph that scares me witless every time I see it. HR Giger was a genius.

It's the Bleeping of the motion scanner as they are moving through the ship, brilliant!

You going to make me watch it tonight now! God damn it. Seen it more times than I remember but it is a very special film and Giger was something else.

His art with his girlfriend at the time (Li Tobler) always interested me how he incorporated her into his work. She committed suicide at 27 (heavily depressed and drug dependent for a long time)
