What film did you watch last night?

Or it could 2 hours of arty ********.
I watched the trailer on YouTube... all the comments said 'this is how trailers should be, teasing at things, not showing anything'... I had no idea what the movie was actually about based on this trailer and suspected the movie just didn't have anything and so crossed it off my list. Glad it sounds like I was right!

Sharknado (2013) - 2/10

An entertaining premise, but trash in pretty much every regard. Apart from the silly concept, it’s really not any good, not even in the “so bad it’s good” category.

Very dodgy CGI, cheap looking special effects, lots of stock footage and continuity issues and lots of terrible acting makes it a mostly dull affair.

Some moments are funny and it has some cheesy charm, but I was expecting it to be a lot more entertaining, exciting and over the top in every respect.

Black Adam (2022) - 4/10

An uneven film which has all the elements of a superhero movie but doesn’t put them to best use.

The plot was ok with one surprising element in it and the fight scenes were good with lots of focus on destruction and spectacle, but they did get a bit boring due to all of the characters being invulnerable.

The new team of B-list superheroes introductions and backstories were rushed, the evil, high-tech mercenaries wouldn’t shoot a child for plot reasons and disappeared completely in the second half, and there was
an undead army who were defeated by untrained civilians wielding pipes
, all probably due to the lower age rating rather than embracing the darkness the character and setting deserved.

The quality of special effects / CGI noticeably dropped in the final act and although there was a fair amount of humour mixed in to keep things, it didn’t really fit within the story
of an oppressed civilization rising up
.

Nope - 3/10

Honestly found this so slow and boring, all looks with no depth. Not nearly enough happening to justify a 2 hour runtime, found myself just waiting for the end. Really disappointing from Peele.

Wasnt it originally meant to be a R rated film? Would have been better if they had kept it at R rated.
