What film did you watch last night?

Oppenheimer - Liemax Cardiff - 9/10

Really liked it, didn't expect from the trailer it was a courtroom drama type film, biopic of his life. It's extremely rare I like this sort of stuff

But confusing with the time jumps and loads Of characters. But think it did a good job of putting you in the moment with decisions, moralality, and events at the time, without knowing (like we do) in hindsight.

Audio was quite epic, extremely loud.. But at times I found it tricky to understand voices.

The bit discussing on where to drop the bombs was particularly grim

Funny you should say that as I've seen it twice now. First time at the Showcase X-Plus and the dialogue was crystal clear, then on the Cineworld Liemax Nottingham - where the volume was so much louder but the voice track so much more muffled. To the degree that I struggled to hear what they were saying at times and I'd already seen it. 3 times my partner leant over to ask what they said at a crucial part.

Spoke about it to my AV guy yesterday and he said the Showcases have newer refits with up to date digital dolby atmos systems and the IMAXs are now just older audio setups, but I was surprised at how stark the difference was.

Transformers - Rise of the Beasts

4/10

It's Transformers so that gets at least a 1. Another point because some scenes near the end are reminiscent of the original cartoon.

Quite a bit a didn't like but that is the way with the Transfomers films sadly.

Spider-man: Across the Spider-Verse

Stunningly beautiful and a fantastic romp, just as fun as the original. 9/10

Cobweb

Partial to the odd silly horror, was interesting enough finding out what was going on, but a bit of a meh pay-off. 5/10

No Hard Feelings

Had high hopes, but the trailer made it out to be much more comedy/wacky than it turned out to be. 5/10

I wont say I'm surprised its still going. I really enjoyed the first film but its just been cash in with the subsequent films.

Talk to me - 7/10

Quite a good little Aussie horror/thriller film. Decent story, well acted with that usual Aussie no nonsense style. Not a pure horror so doesn't overdo it with with the jump scares and tropes but with just enough viscera to keep the gore fans happy.
