Say what you will about the Pacific Rim films, but they are better 'big robots break stuff' than any of the Transformers for me. The fight scenes were cool, and just less cartoonish.
Watched this because I thought Elizabeth Moss was good in the Invisible Man.
I did enjoy this, for the most part, and did make it through to the end, though I was expecting a bit more of an impactful ending…
John Wick 4
Entertaining as usual. More of the same but weakest of the lot for me although his journey through Paris was pretty epic. 6/10. Banging soundtrack.
Not sure if it is an intentional rip off of The Warriors or a tribute to it, boppers.
Secretariat, apparently i quite like horse films, Dream Horse, Seabiscuit, War Horse and this, i knew a little bit about this horse's legacy so no surprise ending but found it quite endearing and entertaining, a decent watch for a Sunday evening!
Robin Williams on top form. Haven't seen it in a while, but it's still great and so is the soundtrack.
8/10
Night of the Comet (1984)
If you watched this back in the day, then you might have a soft spot for it. But me watching for the first time last night, I can't say it's any good. I know it's supposed to be a bit of light hearted fun, but everything about is pretty poor. The soundtrack is ok if you're in to it and the scenes where the city is empty are impressive for their time.
Horror Express , classic 70's horror , found a channel on youtube called Creature Features and they show full horror movies , as a bonus they had Michael Berryman as a guest and he looks exactly like he did in the 1977 Hills have Eyes (well older but instantly recognisable , then again no one else looks remotely like him).
Suprisingly the film was the clearest version i have ever seen and in widescreen.
Worth checking the channel out if you are into B movies , quite a few adverts but worth it.
Was flicking through netflix last night and came across Awakenings. A film I've never heard about and me and the better half thought we'd give it a go. What a good film it was. Robin Williams played such good none comedic parts. Quite a sad film too.
Mechanic Resurrection. Enjoyable, like most JS films, and I was surprised I hadn't seen it before given I liked the first one.
The Mechanic. Once again enjoyable. Thought I'd re-watch it after seeing the sequel.
Dream Scenario. It's Nic Cage so it's a given that its going to be a little weird but this time he's outdone himself on the weirdness scale. It was OK and I'll never watch it again.
