What film did you watch last night?

Orphan: First Kill https://www.imdb.com/title/tt11851548/

I thought it started off quite well, but after a while it seemed to deteriorate somewhat, with the characters becoming increasingly less credible.
That said, I did decide to carry on with it until the conclusion, as I was partly invested in it. Not a terrible movie by any stretch, but not one I will watch again.

I thought I recognised the mother in it, played by Julia Stiles. She was in the 2006 remake of The Omen.

Caught a couple of movies on Prime.

Beetlejuice - wanted to prep myself for the new movie. Forgot how Wacky and insane some of the moments were in a good way. Very original indeed. Winona Ryder was so young with Alec Baldwin and Gina Davis putting in a good shift. forgotten just how good Michael Keaton was as BG. 7/10.

Constantine - Another brilliant classic that i had forgotten just how good it was. Keanu played a different Constantine to the role from the comics but nevertheless the story was intriguing and compared to some of the newest blockbusters put them to shame. 8/10.

Been watching a load of Pixar films over the last few nights. Toy Story Quadrilogy last week, Incredibles 1 and 2, Ratatouille, Wall-E and Up tonight.

Ratatouille's my favourite Pixar film and a solid 5. Also rate The Incredibles, Wall-E and Toy Story 2 and 3 as 5/5 films with the Incredibles 2, Toy Story 1 and 4 being 4/5 films. All incredibly enjoyable, just a few slightly more so than others.

Up's one of Pixar's highest rated films but it just doesn't do it for me. Dug's the only likeable character and the story's pretty bland compared to other Pixar films, watched it a few times now and it's not one that's grown on me either - 2/5.

I loved Up, but I can understand it not being rated as highly. Side note I took my niece and nephew to see it in the cinema during its original release
and that beginning montaged destroyed us; two kids balling their eyes out is not the ideal start to Saturday Film Club I can tell you!

Yeah, I didn't get the love for Up either. Tbh, I can't remember it well enough now, but I seem to recall the old guy being such a d*ck early on, I was lost already and couldn't enjoy it.

I loved Up too.

I may only be 43 but I can totally relate to his grumpiness (perimenopause is my excuse though! Lol!).

The Terminator - Just back from the cinema and it was absolutely amazing. Ahead of its time. Was too young to have watched in at the movies and for me its never the same at home. I did not want to miss this chance. For once it was a packed house. Linda Hamilton did a top class job with good support from Michael Biehn. One of Arnie's most defining roles. In his prime his sheer physical presence was immense. 9/10.

I wished James Cameron would do another one after T2.

Furiosa 8/10

I actually thought this was damn good. It falls short of probably the best action film of all time that it's based on but there is no shame in that. I thought it was a touch too long and the connection between chapter 4 and 5 felt a bit off but it had some great set pieces and fleshed out some things from Fury Road nicely.
