It was back in 2004 when I bought the box. Need to try and get a few more of my fav films. That's a lovely little starter box right there. i'd have bought it just for flash gordon. lol

Generally I keep an eye out on a few private forums, and have a few specialist shops that call me up if anything comes in on my list. i'm especially keen on adding to my criterion stuff. It was back in 2004 when I bought the box. Need to try and get a few more of my fav films.
I keep meaning to watch that, but i always find Kate Winslet trying to be American distracting.Lee (starring Kate Winslet) 6/10
It was ok but the story had much more potential to be harder hitting or even more focused on the craft of war photography.
Agree, you do forget about it after the first couple of scenes though.I keep meaning to watch that, but i always find Kate Winslet trying to be American distracting.
I've been fascinated by people nutty enough to be war photographers ever since i watched full metal jacket (and also got hooked on kubrick - that guy really was efficient in making gateway drug films. lol)Agree, you do forget about it after the first couple of scenes though.
I’ve been meaning to watch it for ages too, would recommend giving it a go, nothing Oscar worthy but interesting enough.
If you’re into the subject of war photography, watch McCullin.

My wife better not see this post, she will be loading the car upWell, if you ever do feel like parting with your collection, let me know.
I have, but you know it's one that I've been meaning to re-watch for a while. it's a fantastic film. I've got bugger all going on today and tomorrow, I'm not convinced a full day of that kind of genre would be the call but a couple each evening could be a cracking way to fill the time out. You've probably seen it, but The Killing Fields is another good film about war journalism.
Your wife's email address is? I'm certainly not sending her a screenshot to further my nefarious plan as we speak. My wife better not see this post, she will be loading the car up
28 days later - 7.5/10 considering the budget they made a hell of a movie, 28 weeks later next in preparation for the new one.
Wasn't it shot on 35 mm film? That's easy to get a 4k from if it was.I agree, i watched it the other day because i got pretty hyped up about 28 years later. I'm pretty stoked that we're going to get a 4k release next year, but confess am genuinely curious how they plan to do that.
No it was shot on the canon X-1 which is the problem as it was the first digital camera. Apparently they can't really upscale it to any beneficial degree.Wasn't it shot on 35 mm film? That's easy to get a 4k from if it was.

Didn't they release it on bluray in 1080p? what did that look like?It was shot in 480p! And being digital there's no rescan of the master that can be done.
It looks atrocious on a 4k TV nowadays as the upscale struggles badly.
Ouch. Does the Blu Ray look bad then? I've only got the dvd.It was shot in 480p! And being digital there's no rescan of the master that can be done.
