What film did you watch last night?

Watched The Outrun at the weekend. It was good, nice to watch something a bit different. Saoirse Ronan is great in it.

It is an adaptation of a memoir about addiction, so doesn't have any great sweeping story arcs or anything. A good watch if that sort of thing is your bag.

8/10 for me

I really liked it too

Watched a few films over the weekend as I am behind on viewings.

Deadpool and Wolverine - 8.5/10
Laughs a minute with this one, even with its seemingly boring plot line. The cameos, gags, one liners were all on point - even the baddie/s. Had a great time watching this one and I'm not even a fan of Deadpool. I want to say so much more but its easy to spoil this one.

Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End - 8/10
This is rather good! It is a Spanish film based on some books and focuses on a guy and his kitty cat hoping to reunite with his family during the outbreak of a pandemic. The zombies are more akin to WWZ and the Rage virus zombies (from 28 days/weeks). The film has a COVID outbreak feel to it before descending into Days Gone (video game) territory. It isn't action packed but it is well paced throughout. The film does end on a sort of cliff hanger which suggests a follow up is coming.

Terrifier 1, 2, 3
No rating for these as they're all quite good depending on how much insane gore you can handle. The films are a throwback to the Freddy K/Jason Vorhees 80's slashers but with more gore. Saw the first film and thought nothing of it, however the 2nd and 3rd films introduce us to the brilliant Lauren LaVera and her character who has some important backstory to her as she fights off the demonic Art the Clown/Mime who is literally hilarious in his own twisted, sick sense. Honestly, this guy/thing is a Chucky grown up but with that infantile sense of humour. You feel his evil presence but you can't help but laugh at some of his antics.

If you like old school gory slashers then you will enjoy these films.

Deadpool 3.

7.5/10, as Kaimz above said the plot was crap but the comedy kept it going.

Would have been good to see the main bad guy a little more.

Loved the Welsh flag cameo lol.

It was alright albeit very predictable

We watched some Michael McIntyre show. Some funny parts, I just don't know if I like his style of comedy. Funny thing is that I've seen him twice in concert lol
Was this his Standup? I went to the recording and had some serious laugh out loud moments.

Nickel Boys - cracking movie, adapted from a book (i've not read it) and centered a teenage black male in the 1960's who gets sent to a rehab/boys centre type of place. Shot from a first person perspective though which works really well. 8/10

Don't look up..

Seen it before and I know it doesn't the best reviews but it should be viewed with the subtle message that we're all idiots and can't seem to see our own impending doom.

This Boy's Story (1993)

Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio star in the true story of a teenage boy and his mother in an abusive relationship.

I quite enjoyed this one, great performances from all the cast and you can see that from an early age Leo was top class.

7/10

Nosferatu in the cinema, 7/10 for me.

While it had the gothic atmosphere, it just didn't convey any kind of horror for me. Just making the voice eery and noises louder felt like there was no effort involved.
