What film did you watch last night?

Lazy day today...

Arlington Road. A man suspects his neighbour is a terrorist. 2nd time viewing and just as good. 7/10

Currently watching The boys from Brazil.
First time watching and just got to the bit where you find out who the boys are. 8/10

Tenet (2020)

I felt like feeling stupid for two and a half hours so I watched this for the forth time. While I get the basics, I still don't fully get it. Despite that I still find it a very enjoyable film, although I think my subwoofer hates it.

8/10

You get it fully it's just the fact it's just not that great of a movie much like Inception lol. The " oh you didn't like it then you must be stupid " excuse. Don't blamevthe pupil blame the teacher.

Dark Crimes with Jim Carrey
Came up on my Prime timeline in the 'Because you watched' section....its an absolute stinking, festering bag of dog muck parading as movie. How I got through all of it I dont know.

Despite what is a decent cast on paper the writing is just awful, acting and portrayals about as un-even as I've ever seen, characters are introduced like you are supposed to know who they and then disappear again just as quick and what is clearly supposed dark and gritty theme turns out to be just a dull and miserable journey that goes nowhere slowly.
And just when the story actually hints at being potentially interesting, something occurs and the film ends.

2/10 - would not watch again even if paid to.

Jim carry had his time in the 90s but as with everyone he grew stale.

Off topic but why does comedy we once enjoyed be it movies or acts seem to fall out of favour after a time?
Be it morecambe and wise or hale and pace.
We all laughed at it back in the day but now we see it as drivel.
Yes society has changed, but what changed?
I'm not talking about the obvious political correction in media. Have we just been conditioned over time?

I’m glad people didn’t generally like Tenet. Easily Nolan’s worst film. It was just bad.

I’m in agreement on Inception too. One of the few films I can fall asleep during without fail, but I can understand why people may like it, at least.

How can a film you don't understand after 4 watches be 8/10
Because it does everything so well. I like all of Nolan's films (apart from Oppenheimer, which I've also seen twice anyway. But even I can admit it's a great film, I just didn't enjoy it as much as his other work). Just because I don't get it on a deep level, I get it enough to enjoy it.

'A real pain' - 2 cousins visit Poland to pay their repsects and tribute to their Polish grandma who has died. They take in a Holocaust tour with tour guide along the way and as expected, things from their childhood and adulthood past crop up as memories. Some good, some bad. Decent enough without being great 7/10.
