What film did you watch last night?

Really enjoyed it. 8.5/10.

Ghostbusters scene was brilliant !

Finished off the night with Lethal Weapon 2 - just as fun as when I seen it 20 odd years ago

Ran First time I've seen this and it didn't disappoint. Fantastic movie. Loved how your view of certain characters changed as the movie went on. Only downside was the PQ of the blu-ray was all over the place. 9/10

Red Desert Another great movie. The thing is shot superbly. 8/10

Black Swan

Well suppose it's like they say, it's very visceral and atmospheric to a point where it even has some horror film elements. The world the character lives in is nightmarish and suffocating to a point where it even makes it somewhat uncomfortable for the viewer. Natalie Portman is clearly going to get an Oscar nomination for this one and probably rightly so, she seems to have put a lot of effort into this one both emotionally and physically, allegedly lost 20lbs for this one and it does show so she definitely looks the part. The supporting cast did their job well and Kunis never really had the chance to do anything other than her usual characters that she can cruise in by now. Some of the extra shaky cinematography I found somewhat unnecessary but it still a very good film.

8/10

The King's Speech

For some reason I didn't seem to have enjoyed this film as much as I thought I would but neverthless a compelling piece of cinema. Solid performances all round and great periodic settings. 8/10

Splice 4/10 - Failed to express any real message about gene experimentation. The female role turning from good to bad was half baked and didn't really work. Brody I don't find very convincing at the best of times. Just didn't really do any thing for me.

Watched Black Swan last night, a fairly bizarre film. Some quite uncomfortable even cringey moments but well done for it.

Natalie Portman was great, Mila Kunis was hot.

The Town - Watched this last night at the student cinema. Thought it was really good! First film I've seen that was directed by Ben Affleck and I thought he did a great job.

The Way Back - Saw this last week. Wow, brilliant film. Incredible acting and performances all round. Highly recommended!

Into The Wild - I'd been waiting to see this for a while and I wasn't disappointed. Really enjoyed this film, Emile Hirsch played the part well.

Traitor - I'd heard mixed things about this but I thoroughly enjoyed it. It wasn't overly complex and it was good to see Don Cheadle in a lead role.

I also saw TRON recently. I was disappointed to say the least, music was good though.

We Are Marshall - American football movie surrounding the events of a plane crash that wipes out the vast majority of the college football team. Enjoyable & as with most sports based movies; inspirational.

Seems to me that American Football is the sport that best transfers to a movie format.

Inception - Great film, nice idea. Felt there was something missing though, something that just stopped it form being amazing. Can't put my finger on it. Still a solid 9/10 though as I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Leonardo Di Caprio certainly does have a very impressive filmography!

I thought this was an absolute bore fest. Was on so long too, they got rid of the best actor earlier on who was actually interesting.

Watched The Loved Ones on Sunday, pretty decent for a hack n slash film. 5/10. Worth a watch.

Also on Friday watched, Morning Glory, surprisingly very good and amusing! We only watched it as we were late, 7/10.

Black Swan, so much hype yet I walked away disappointed. Acting was great, just thought the story line went too mad. 6/10 for me.

.

If you liked this it's worth tracking down Gone Baby Gone. Just be prepared to put the subtitles on to understand Casey Affleck. :p
