What film did you watch last night?

The Way Back

Loved it - about some WW2 prisoners of war that escape from a Siberian POW camp, and walk a few thousand miles to India for freedom. 8/10

Battle: Los Angeles
Harmless fun, really enjoyed it as a mindless film that does relatively well to keep you on your edge of your seat. Lacking in depth and plot, but still fun! 7/10

Memento

The wife and i thought we would give this a go again as its on the imdb list we are working our way through.

Just like the first time, neither of us really got into it and i just felt it was "trying" to be clever, another thing is Guy Pierce....i just cannot take him seriously at all.

Its a shame because most people seem to really rave about this one, we just didnt get the hype.

6/10
Next up though is Lord of the rings: The 2 towers...looking forward to watching it again, the wife however is not.

Wow, Memento is definitely 10/10 for me.

We watched this again recently. For me, it doesn't come across as "trying" to be clever - it genuinely is clever. This is arguably borne out by the fact that it's apparently used in film classes to indicate the difference between plot and story. Word is it's also the most accurate depiction of retrograde amnesia that you'll see in a film.
