What film did you watch last night?

For me, it doesn't come across as "trying" to be clever - it genuinely is clever. This is arguably borne out by the fact that it's apparently used in film classes to indicate the difference between plot and story. Word is it's also the most accurate depiction of retrograde amnesia that you'll see in a film.

yeah i can see this film being used in classes all over the world to teach people those differences, we all know that story is a chronological depiction but a plot is the same events rearranged to give significance to the story however in my mind this still does not make it an enjoyable movie....it is too open ended.

Why not tell me what you really think of it Vonhelmet....did you enjoy the film or did you find it interesting in a oh i will wikipedia this movie and find out what the different things mean kinda way?

I dont mean this to sound at all offensive btw, i just dont know how to word it in any other way.:)

I find it interesting in terms of the idea that you only have your own memory to rely on, and you can't know - beyond what you believe and remember - how you came to be in the situation that you are in. This is something we all face, but it's very viscerally presented in this film, where the character's memories, both real and false, lead him into horrible situations.

I also don't mind open ended films, so long as they leave me with something to think about. I'm not fussed if there's minimal closure or defined narrative arc.

Excellent....and thats probably why i didnt enjoy it so much, im a stickler for start > middle > end i like to know where i am.

Munich

Enjoyed it, liked all of the characters but thought they dragged the end on a little bit too much. I do like Eric Bana though, he's very good.

6.5/10

London Boulevard.

5/10.

Just an average film and it seems Farrell has got his accent straight from Phil Mitchel out of Eastenders. Funny how he's also called Mitchel in the film.

The end was ****.

Watched Pandorum 7.5/10, I think it's quite an engaging film it does a good job of giving you a lot of questions at the beginning and throughout the film.

Sucker Punch

Even expecting style over substance I was somewhat disappointed by this, I'd say it's one of Snyder's weaker attempts 6/10.

Harpy Potters Chamber of Secrets.

First time watching it since the cinema. Quite good fun watching it with my kid.

Just watched Alien bluray utterly awesome. Lights off surround sound up. Aliens tomorrow now thats going to be scary :D

The original Bad Lieutenant was really good. It wasn't enjoyable though. It was insanely disgusting and disturbing.

Keitel was amazing in it.

The new one (same name, different story) was alright too, I thought.
