What film did you watch last night?

gave in and watched Die Hard 2 sicne band practise was cut short due to failed amp!

what a terrible film.. but still, i had to watch it as i'd watched all the others.

Stop now and don't go any further.

Extremely wise words of a champion.

Edit-

May as well contribute whilst I'm here. I watched Scary Movie the other night on Blu-Ray. It's a shame that, like American Pie, they have taken the urine out of it with the endless number of sequels. The originals are really good.

Dawn of the Dead. Thought this was supposed to be a classic? Slower than a zombie's shuffle and just as tedious. 2/10.

well due to the snow...

Ira and abby 6/10 funny in places but strange on the whole
Bullets, Bood and a fist full of Ca$h 2/10 rubbish turned it off after about 20 minutes
Mount Pleasant 3/10 depressing!
Coraline, strange but very enjoyable 7.5/10
Surrogates quite good, bit short 7/10

Blow.

Good film. One where I was actually too busy watching the movie to think about how crap it is which is what generally happens when I watch a **** one.

Interesting to see an actor from My Name Is Earl and the actor who plays 'Johnny Tapia' in Bad Boys 2 as BB2 was the first role I'd ever seen him in. Drug lords in both :p

Quite powerful and a little bit moving towards the end for me.

Million Dollar Baby

WARNING SPOILERS

From the off this seemed to be the conventional Hollywood film. A young amateur aspires to becoming champion of the world, works her way up to the top, wins and happy ever after?

Not in this case, for me MDB was an average film until the fight in which she was paralyzed. From there it turned into a masterpiece.

I had shivers down my spine when Morgan Freeman said.

'People die everyday Frankie, wiping floors, washing dishing and you know what their last though is? I never got my shot. Because of you, Maggie got her shot. If she dies today you know what her last thought will be? 'I think I did alright', I know I could rest with that'

To which Clint Eastwood's character just says 'yea'

Made me think, it's not about how long you live for it's what you do with the time you have.

This is one of the first films in a long time that really touched me. Sure Inglourious ********, District 9 and Avatar were entertaining but this film got me thinking and as Michael Haneke says.

If I leave the cinema feeling different to when I walked in, it was worth going. if I leave the cinema in the same mood as when as when I walked in, I lost two hours

I really wish they would have ended it when he walked out of the hospital instead of wrapping it all up with a nice voiceover but that's just me being picky.

An hour in I thought I'd be rating Million Dollar Baby a 7 at best.

An hour later...

10/10

Good review. Very good film :)

I'm not sure Clint has ever been associated with a bad movie, his entire career has pretty much been top notch films, very impressive. Gonna watch Invictus tonight, expecting lots :)

Tbh I thought Gran Torino was over hyped. Clint's characters are somewhat predictable as he goes from a cold hearted ******* into a sensitive warm hearted lovable character.

I also thought the young male actress in Gran Torino was horrific :(
