What film did you watch last night?

Forest Gump

Can't think of a reason to deduct any points on this one.

Tom Hanks is absolutely incredible and the story is beautiful.

10/10

The only part I'd change is when she asks him to marry her, and he just says OK. If I had directed that scene I'd have just have Gump break down in to tears and smile. Jenny was his everything.

Will check it out, loved Bale in Prestige

Very good film, Bale is outstanding. Scarily good imo.

I watched The Wrestler, impressed me again, Mickey Rourke is very good. Oscary worthy. Marisa Tomei is also good :) and she's pretty.

I watched 'Lost in Translation' for the first time tonight.

TBH, I am lost for words. I would easily put this as my favourite film ever.

However in the words of Charlotte "Let's never come here again because it will never be as much fun." I think the same goes to viewing the film. This film made me feel something I've never felt before, and I don't think I would want to watch it again, in-case it doesn't make me feel that way again.

What other films have a similar sort of character development? This film was basically just two characters and the most 'actiony' bit was jogging away from a night club, yet I felt it had more substance than all die hard films put together.

May. Incredibly slow. Incredibly dull. Incredibly predictable. Incredibly stupid. Horror movie? Don't make me laugh.

Easy to see why it was a box office flop.

The French Connection – One of the best cop movies, it’s atmospheric, gritty and thrilling. Popeye Doyle is my kind of cop, bending rules, what rules! This is Gene Hackman at his best. It may be from the seventies but some crime dramas are timeless. I’m looking forward to the sequel.

Face/Off on BBC iplayer, it's not as good as I remember it being last time, infact I found myself getting annoyed with it at times for it's cliche/cheese factor. 5/10.

Watched The Lovely Bones with my gf last night, both of us in agreement that the book was much better, still a good movie but could have been much better.

Not technically a film but two part first episode of Firefly (so get in on a technicality as it is feature length). Seen so many people banging on about it on here thought I would give it a go. Got the box set to kep me going. Solid start 4/5.

No country for old men

I had no idea what it was about before so took me by surprise a bit! I enjoyed it and some very good tense cat and mouse scenes but I though the end could have been better.

Watched Couples Retreat last night, really enjoyed it!
It wasn't quite as laugh out loud funny as some of those similar films but still a fun watch.

Plus it has Kristen Bell in it and she is lovely.

Resident Evil Extinction, The best of the three imo, still really enjoyed it only disappointing part for me is the stupid millions of Alice`s at the end.

Night of the Living Dead in HD.

I told my wife that the movie is "a searing commentary on the role and status of the black man in 1960s American society" which addresses "the disturbing psychosexual tensions which persisted between black men and white women during that era" and "the cosmic struggle between white man and black man for control of a nation that cannot contain them both", illustrated by "blatant phallic imagery" in the form of a rifle which the "emasculated" white man tries to steal from the black man, thereby "reclaiming his masculinity and reasserting his racial dominance".

She gave me a slap and told me to stop talking rubbish. Honestly, some people just can't see the subtext. :o
