What film did you watch last night?

Picked up a copy of 'The Bourne Legacy' for two quid in a charity shop... I had only heard pretty bad things, but was pleasantly supprised by how much I [and the missus] enjoyed it... 7/10 and well worth £2 :)

Not a patch on the original trilogy however.

Saw The Incredible Burt Wonderstone a few days ago also: 6/10

As above, it was an okay movie, but could have been so much better with a more exciting script.

Watched Killing Season last night.

Thought it was really boring to be honest, it has some good actors in it, but was really slow in laying the premiss of the story out and even worse waiting for any action, when there was any action it was short lived and mediocre.

Watchmen - 8.5/10

Never heard of the graphic novel/comic book series of this, but decided to watch it for the sake of it. Turned out it was actually a really really good superhero movie, and different from the other ones. Really liked the story and the characters and actors were great!

Highly recommended :)

Not sure if you're aware but there isn't actually anyone with a superpower in the movie. The closest we've got is Manhattan who isn't really a superhero in the conventional sense.

When this was first pointed out to me I was like...WTF, then it seemed blindingly obvious.

I disagree with your score though, 9/10 for me, extra 0.5 for an amazing soundtrack ;)

Haha true, didn't take massive notice of the soundtrack though, I was watching it in the early hours trying not to wake everyone up, while trying to stay awake, not prime conditions for a film :p

But it's still classed as a superhero movie even though they all lack the powers :p

Dr Manhattan lacks superpowers?
The guy can do anything...and I mean, anything.
He is as "super" as any super hero can be.

I didn't say he lacked powers, just in case you missed it the first time...

;)

By this I mean he isn't exactly selfless and when we do see him exercise his powers, he's essentially atomising the enemies.

Was Dr Manhattan, not using his powers to create a new system of power generation and helping his people develop science/technology?
He also helped the USA win the Vietnam war.
That's more than what most super heroes do.
The only guy who does more is probably Superman and even that would be arguable.

IMO he is absolutely a super hero - he has super powers and he serves his people.

He also helped the USA win the Vietnam war.

Hen scared the Vietcong into submission by basically committing genocide, leading to him becoming a walking piece of propaganda for the US, he also directly influenced technology by mass synthesising certain elements leading the the US becoming incredibly powerful, as a result he is the cause of global tension. Not to mention his complete detachment from the human race and how easily he was manipulated.

Dr Manhattan may have "super powers" but he is no more a "hero" than anyone else in the story, which is kind of the point.

You put it far better than I ever could have, cheers :D

Evil Dead 1/10 (can you score 0?)

Seriously, what a pile of poo. Just angers me at how stupid the story line was and how dumb to characters was. Bad, bad film.

Magic Mike - 7/10

Strangely enjoyed this homo erotic film :p

Good performances, hot ladies, bit of an abrupt ending though.
