What have you done to your car today?

yeah, that's pretty much it! modding will rarely if ever increase the value of a car unless it's FI! but then you reduce the market of potential buyers as not everyone is looking for a modified car in general.

Unless you bought the car before the classic car bubble. Everything I have spent on mods has been taken up by its increased value and then some. When ever the missus complains about my expenditure I do remind her it is the only appreciating asset we have apart from our house :p.

It's only my daily & winter car so I really don't mind. I have BC's on my starlet and they are boneshakers :p

I fitted Tein's, they really improved the handling, and the ride is also still very comfortable, just a bit firmer. But if you don't really drive it like a loon then it doesnt matter really I suppose! :)

Collection caper this weekend. Up to Aldershot to get the wheels for the MX5 - Rota RKR's with Nankang NS2R's, on to Milton Keynes to pick up the replacement rear bumper and JDM rear panel, then back down to Maidstone to pick up the car itself.

And a friend has offered to supply and fit a 1.8VVT 143HP engine with me for £150 so that's apparently happening now too... :p

I have no idea how you have the time to make all these deals! Do you not do anything at work? :D

You're going to need something aftermarket on the ECU front for the VVT to work unless you plan on swapping the loom etc too

Drove it to Houston and back: performed perfectly in every way apart from fuel consumption :p

I'd been noticing over the last couple of weeks that when it's left for a while without moving, the front drops a good inch lower than the back. I took a guess that the front air struts probably had a slow leak, so I replaced both of them which has fixed the issue: only cost me £370 including fitting. Was tempted to do it myself as I've done it on my old Jag before and it's not that hard but for the sake of £60 labour, I'd rather avoid lying on my driveway for hours covered in dirt.

Put the interior back in, original wheels and strut brace back on, took the det3 out, found all the paperwork and stuff. Ready for collection tomorrow evening... Then it can enjoy its ride on the back of a wagon all the way to Norn Iron.

Going to miss it!

Took my Focus 2.0 TDCi to Ford dealer today for them to listen to the engine !!

I have finally started to wear my hearing aids and after I started the car and got out I thought that isn't right -- It sounded like a dance troop all holding a tin with ball bearings in it and shaking it about - I thought cam chain had 6" of play in it - They said it sounds fine to us. In fact the mechanic said if I was you I would turn hearing aid off then you haven't got to worry.

Best advise so far, Being a bit deaf certainly has it's advantages.

Discs and pads yesterday - although one caliper is now dragging a little, so I’ll pop out the sliders and regrease them.

Edit: scratch that, the backing plate was rubbing a little :o

I don't suppose anyone on here, knows anyone in London who could help with setting up the car for drift? I heard there's a Lithuanian bloke in Barking, but can't find any info about him...

That couldn't sound any more sketchy :p
Nope, I spoke to a few people at Santa last week when I went to help out my mate who had a drift day. Two people with the same cars, recommended him, but me being me... I forgot to ask for a name or a phone number. :/

Edit

Seen his work too, hence why I want to give him my car for a setup.
