What have you done to your car today?

@Conscript

Looking good! Who did the work out of interest?

A local guy that a few people I know recommended, Gary Chappell. He runs a workshop down near Wrotham. Doesn't seem like he has much of a profile (not even a website or anything), but I saw quite a few newer cars there when I went, in for similar minor repairs. I guess his business is built on reputation. I'll certainly be keeping him in mind, and in fact, were taking my girlfriend's Sorento back to him in a couple of weeks to sort the dented wing.

Ordered a new drivers side engine mount and also had my new rear engine mount modified a little.

I managed to thread the captive nut on the subframe that holds the engine mount in place, so garage had to drill it out. Which now means the mount moves when the engine has a sharp movement. No matter how tigtt I do the new nut and bolt, it moves as the hole is wider than the bolt by at least 2-3mm.

They have widened the steel coller on the mount by 2mm, this way I can use a thicker bolt and a stronger nut. No more moving mount and a stiffer bush.

The new top engine mount also has a stiffer bush, which worrys me as Im not a real fan of engine vibration.. but I am suffering wheel hop and a sloppy engine feel... So if it fixes that and comes with some vibrations... So be it. I just need time to install them... And it's getting colder

Why 4 fuel filters? :confused:

You definitely don't need to do them every service. Or even every other service. Or even every 3. :p

Replacement schedule is on them is 20k miles or 24 months, I only meant to put 2 in the basket rather than 4, but for the sake of £9 each I might as well do it every 10k miles with everything else anyway

Technically yesterday, but bought one... 60 plate Fiesta Zetec 1.4 - 53k miles

Had the boot switch replaced today (as was only opening via the keyfob), and dealer has agreed to replace windscreen as we noticed some scratches (that we didn't originally notice).

Happy with how the dealer has handled things, just a little bit of an inconvenience as they are ~30mile away.

Changed over to my winter tyres. On December 1st it's illigal to use summer ones here even though there's no snow. When I took my summer ones off I noticed there is a nail in one of my new Michelin PS4 tyres (last picture). Is this repairable?

Drove it 500 miles and after bothering to check out the trip computer I was pretty surprised at the poor fuel economy. I know mpg isn't necessarily a big thing to worry about and I've known it's been pretty poor ever since I got the car but seeing 41mpg from a diesel Mondeo after 490 miles of motorway while driving like an old man is pretty tragic.
