What have you done to your car today?

Got a foam lance to go with recent pressure washer so tried it out. Not bad at all and just what you want this weather, but really the cars need more prep to make subsequent washes 'contactless'.

Ivr always found foam great fun and a reasonable way to loosen some dirt for a proper wash - but completely useless for cleaning the car unless it was last cleaned ten minutes ago

Changed the oil, fuel filter, cabin filter and replaced the K&N panel filter for a genuine Subaru item. First time I've seen a K&N panel filter... It was about half as thick as the Subaru filter. No thanks.

Going to change the spark plugs tomorrow, compression test it (just for peace of mind) and whip the intercooler off to hunt down a boost leak.

Snowfoam is never designed to be used as a wash, it's a stage of the wash procedure but all it is designed to do is to loosen stubborn dirt and remove light dirt.

I use Magifoam as a wet weather wash and it gets the car looking reasonable without even touching the car. In this weather it is exactly what you want. No point doing a proper wash when ten minutes later your car is filthy again.

Washed and waxed. It's the first time I've waxed it and the first time I've used that G3 wax. One thing I have learnt; use a lot less next time :p . must have spent like 15-20 minutes just buffing the roof alone :(

How do you find the RO filters? I'm keen on getting a setup, got 2 black cars and ultra hard water in this area. The window cleaners use this kind of system and the windows air dry to a spotless finish, I don't see why it wouldn't work the same on a car.

I feel robbed!

Bought 4x genuine alloy wheel M badges. The genuine ones are soft and smaller than 100% of the cheaper ones you find on ebay etc. The cheaper ones are £3 for 5, and are aluminium backed with 3M adhesive pads. They are not soft, so don't fully fit into the rectangle recess on the alloys which results in them falling out if water gets under the pad.

So I got annoyed with keep having to buy the cheaper ones, even though they look exactly the same.

Well, on Schmiedmann they're apparently, ahem, £5.55. Each. Yes.

Schmiedmann

I often find Schmiedmann is far cheaper than my local dealer too, so I don't want to think how much some dealers charge.

Toooooooo much. I got genuine straight away as I don't trust ebay or cheap things. I think I've spent £200~ on badges over the last two cars....
