I recently acquired a Mk7 Fiesta ST and decided to give it a damn good clean inside, apply some leather treatment to bring some life into the seats and then give the outside a nice wash.
Did the whole wash, clay bar, polish and wax.
Probably the first time I've got really up close to the paint work and what I thought was purchased was in excellent condition actually has some defects I've noticed for the first time.
Stone chips present but actually filled, so not too bothered about those (although might go back to it in the summer and try to do a better job). Did spot a double scratch low on the passenger door, which looks like it was poorly corrected and a rather larger chip/gash on the drivers side door that has been repaired/filled but again, badly.
Very annoying but maybe I should be a bit realistic when purchasing used car. End of the day, its coming up to five years old, done 30k miles and it is Ford paintwork and from my past experience of owning a Focus ST, its ridiculously thin.
