Where's the QHD 144hz Smart Money at?

Is the shift big enough that you are really noticing it?

In game no. Out of game not unless I move dramatically.

The odd issue I am noticing now is that I am more sensitive to issues that are flaws in the game engine. Just switched back and forth and what I am seeing is the same on both monitors, for some reason I have to look harder to see them on the I.P.S, but they are displaying the same thing with the same imperfections. Picking them up for the first time on the t.n then immediately noticing them for the first time on the I.P.S when I switch back.

Wondering if better response/ motion, less blur means you see both good and bad more clearly?

I'm finding the OverClock a bit problematic. Often when I enable/disable gsynch in nVIDIA CP and the monitor does it's blink on and off routine, when coming back on the monitor's OSD says that the current range of 2560x1440 155hz is undisplayable please set to 2560x1440 60hz. The OSD stays on the screen and OS/desktop output is not displayed but the desktop can be 'heard' being active. Simply pressing any of the monitor's menu buttons(physical) brings the OS/desktop up on to the screen.
Even on a cold boot into W10 OS the same can happen.

I've started to keep the refresh at 144hz.

I get the same. The overclock does work but error message and black screen first. Just left it at 144 h.z, not sensitive to the difference at the moment, smooth and fast at 144 h.z as is.

Really enjoying tweaking the monitor to the get the best out of it.

T.N. panel tech has seriously evolved.

Hi everyone, I hope you don't mind me jacking the thread.

Looking for a new monitor as my main monitor is a 23.5" Dell (can't check the model until I get home) that I bought in around 2012. Current PC Spec is Ryzen 1600X, 16Gb Ram and a GeForce 1080 GPU. I would like to go up to a 27" screen and anything will be an upgrade really over what I currently have :P. Ideally I wouldn't want to spend more than £400 and from going through this thread it seems that the Dell S2719DGF has been well received and a good choice for me? Does this sound right and anything I should be aware of?

Thank you.

If you're ok with TN, it's a good gaming monitor and currently available at £350.
From what I've found, I couldn't get a good 27" 144hz IPS monitor that's close to my budget right?

Viewing angles wouldn't be an issue as it would be my main monitor sitting directly infront of me.

Well, there are TN panels and there are TN panels, and as TN panels go, Dell's will be about as good as you can get.

Dell make the best monitors, from manufacturing quality control to after sales warranty claims...end of story.

There's no such thing as 'good' since they all use the same panel and they're renowned for awful QC. There's a Asus IPS freesync monitor (can't recall the model number) which uses this AUO panel and which I think might occasionally come down to £500, but the freesync range is something rubbish like 35-90 though there is a workaround to extend this range which I believe might invalidate the warranty. Sorry for vagueness - I looked into it a couple of weeks ago and ended up dismissing the monitor as an option.

I'm loving this monitor. the VRR works a treat on gsync compatibility mode and the colours for a TN far succeed anything I expected, very vibrant. Games actually feel smoother than they did on my last 240hz monitor.

Is VA or TN the better option these days

That depends on if you prefer fast response with average colours that shift noticeably if you lean to the left and right, or if you like to have decent colours and good blacks with a purple smear on the edges of certain colours when the image moves.

Reason why i ask is i have the 32" Hannspree curve VA panel and it feels wasted out compared to using my 4K samsung HDR TV

I used to have a Dell 4K IPS but was too small and slow but perfect for static work, but now only game on a PC so looking to change again

I got an acer cz35ck 35 inch ultrawide VA panel

Carn't see any smearing when i game and god knows i've looked

The only thing i've noticed is on a page with black background and white text,When you scroll the text turns yellow which is neither here or there!

Think this is one of the better VA panels out there

@anthony99 try playing a game with a day night cycle. At night time, pan the camera around things like telegraph poles, trees etc. I can almost guarantee you'll see purple trails.
The yellow text you're seeing is the pixels not changing to white quick enough. My LG 32GK850F did this too, and it has the fastest VA panel I've had the experience of using.

gonna try this over weekend

Just ordered the Dell S2719DGF to finally replace my age old HP ZR24w (60hz).

Should be here for Thursday.

Need to make sure I have the right settings for the refresh rate to work. Have a 1080ti with 419.35 drivers.
