Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Jono, those figures are probably going to have to be taken with a pinch of salt and are probably not reflective of the general public. I don't hoon everywhere but the roads I travel on are twisty and have a lot of elevation changes. 36MPG is easily attainable at the very least. I just enjoy the driving experience too much to worry about economy! :p

Yeh, i just hope i will be able to get close to the combined figure on my commute. I have been able to in every other car i have owned so i don't see why this should be any different. Have read a few other forums and people seem to be able to get 45-50 on a long motorway/dual carriageway run.

I just need it to be able to ~45mpg for my work commute for my man maths to work and to therefore justify buying one :p

Yeah, easily attainable on A roads. :)

Ford have put the RRP up £200 per model from today. The rotters, just when I might be ordering one this month! Not sure whether the free style pack will be available either. Oh and ford finance has gone from 4.2 to 4.3 %

Suppose I should have ordered last month : /

I had a look on the drive the deal site. An ST3 exactly how I want it is £16100. Obviously I'd have a bit of finance on top so interest rates to consider etc. I need to look into it/understand it some more as I've never had finance on a car, or a car worth that much/brand new. When you look at the state of the second hand car market, it is very tempting! I know it ain't got no german badge up front but it just seems great VFM with the cost of new cars in general and how good a drive it is.

Haven't heard of many issues either which is a bonus! But that's what warranty is for... very tempting.

Gone up to £16,147 now for base St-3. Seems to be changing daily and the offers/quotes are out of date as it says they are for cars ordered by 31st December 2014.

They were 15.5k at one point last year.

I see what you mean,

I've been looking at ST's and they're quite reasonably priced. I can't get past the chavvy boy racer image.

I've been thinking about one for my next work car would love one as I love the look of the outside but the cabin is stopping me ordering one, I'm waiting on the new polo gti demo before I decide I think as they come put at around the same price.

I just sold my ST3 with <4k miles. No issues, but some of the cars come with glaring panel gaps, and also some experience problems with the turbo hoses, as they use crap clamps.

I heard something about the hoses a while ago. Have Ford not rectified this from the early models now?

Not heard about the panel gaps before, that'd be a bit of a downer when your new motor comes looking like a badly repaired cat C lol.

Browsing through here and just stumbled across this thread. Here's my '14 ST3 in Molten Orange. Had it new since mid July after trading in my Fiesta Metal Mountune MR155. Wasn't going to touch it but that lasted 3 days. Currently it's on Mountune springs with the Mountune quick shift. On top of that a JS Performance induction hose, K&N panel filter, custom Stage 1 remap from Ecotune and a Peron intercooler. Last time it was on the dyno it made 224bhp and 350nm. :)

The polo gti looks incredibly boring (in fact the whole WV range is going that way) and if you spec one up to have the same spec as an ST-3 it is £2000 more expensive.

Thought ford was 3 year warranty.

Extended it to 5 years for the princely sum of...£260

Can't believe it is so cheap to be honest. £260 for an extra 2 years of manufacturers warranty is very good. You have to buy it before first registration though but then it is transferable (it stays with the car)

That's a good deal.

Shaun there's a lot of difference between a 5k car and a 15k car, wouldn't you want some of the perks if you're paying out a fair old chunk of money? I most definitely would. I've been watching some youtube vids and granted for the new ST there's some good tuning options popping up but if it was me I'd still stick with whatever gives me warranty, both springs and tuning. They sound crap with an exhaust on so for once in my life I wouldn't want to swap from standard lol.

Back onto ST's though my old one has been sold on again, got bonnet vents and more stick on stuff on it now.
