Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

It's Red, I'd have loved white lol. I bid on ebay and it ended on £2501.something but after speaking to him about a few things such as the bits missing above I have beat him down to £2390 as he wants rid so he can afford his new car. I would imagine he was happy to move the price as one of his mates probably bid it up last min for him!! Bit naughty of me to beat him lower but I don't think it's a bad deal, obviously I need to check it but I've spent an hour on the phone tonight asking ridiculous questions so could be a good little cheap project :) He is terrible at taking pics and writing adverts which MAY pay off as it sounds good overall.

When I say project I just mean getting it A1 condition, I won't be messing mod wise :) Just tidy any body bits up, refurb wheels, bits like that to freshen it up.

It'll be pokey enough to keep me interested for a bit. I really enjoyed my silver one a few years ago. I would have kept it if it wasn't for getting laid off work but it give me that kick to get out of the Hardware industry and earn some proper money. So the deposit won't be an issue at all, we get a 2% annual salary bonus this month so that and selling my Astra I've had for all of 2 weeks will cover the cost of this Fez, if it is as good as he describes when I see it :)

I ended up buying this today. I met the guy at a car dealers in Banbury as he was looking at a BMW, saved me the 180 mile trek to Essex anyway but obviously not the best place to do a deal! However the car seems good, won't need much to be mint and seems to run and drive well. Forgot how stiff they were after having bigger/smoother stuff for a while!!

Anyway, the guy wanted his BMW...and I wanted more money off so why not force him into it as he ain't buying his new car without me buying his old one, another £150 off as front tyres getting low and it's not a proper mountune which is a shame. As soon as I popped my head under the bonnet I saw the standard exhaust manifold.

All in all bit of tidying/paint inc wheel refurb and black plastics for about £300 then usual maintenance like general servicing, gearbox oil, PAS fluid etc and she will be a little beaut. Booked in for a good valet on Wednesday and a serious deep clean and wet vac inside! Pics when it's clean :)

In what way does getting rid of a modded near 300bhp ST225 that's better in every way to buy a 150bhp Fezza make sense :eek:

Is it easy to see the exhaust manifold on the Mk6? Forgotten now. Was right buried at the back of the engine?

I know the inlet manifold is plastic until you go MR200 which is the Cosworth part.

Get some pics up! :D

Of course it's a downgrade!

However, I am buying a house this year without doubt and I sold the Focus due to not being happy with the paint and actually getting offered more than it was worth. Made sense. I bought a MK4 Astra to run around in but it was no fun...and these little things are. They're a lot more pointy than a big Focus. Ok, not very quick, pretty small and not as well built but this cost me nearly £4500 less than what I sold the Focus for...

They're more of a laugh on the twisties than the Focus, so that is one thing they're better at.

They also have absolutely none of the expensive inherent problems you are about to face once you get your motor modded Dav4 :)

Yeh makes sense I suppose I forgot that you got a great price for the Focus.
Lol I know I've just had it MOT'd passed with no advisorys and serviced and I'm hesitating about getting it modded now as I just can't be bothered with expensive repairs like the clutch etc but at the same time it's not fast enough standard for my liking.
I might sell mine and buy a Zetec S Focus :D has the looks but without the expensive headaches.

I am thinking about getting the MP215 kit installed soon and wondered if the guys that have already got it done on here could tell me how much they paid? Recommended retail price on the mountune site is £599 + fitting but I have seen some dealerships offer it for that price ( ie no extra for fitting).

I paid £640 including fitting.

Definitely get the engine roll restrictor upgraded as well. The stock one is quite soft and the engine roll is quite obvious with even more power. I gave them one to fit and they did it at the same time for free.

One garage near me were offering it for £599 a few months ago now but I think they're now charging £650. Seems to be about the going rate give or take.

Does the new roll restrictor really make that much of a difference? It is £139 which is ludicrous for what it is!

Also wouldn't be too happy about potentially voiding the warranty on things like the gearbox.

Yep, it makes gear changes a lot better under acceleration and the engine can put the power down better. The quickshifter is worth getting too.

Here's the little ST I bought. Had it valeted etc today quick machine polish, wet vac etc so I can see if it needs anything. Couple of little bits paint wise which I am already itching to sort but I am going to restrain for now! It was cheap after all. But so far no problems with it, drives good, go kart handling for sure. Just a bit stiffer than I am used to as of late :D Getting it on the ramps soon to check all bushes and so on, see what springs are on there...

Mod wise I think I am going to add a Milltek Evo 2 manifold, 60mm throttle body and that will do. I was thinking perhaps flexi and decat but maybe a manifold and keep the standard cat will actually get the best results and not be too loud. It's got a Milltek non res cat back on and it's not that loud, the Mountune induction set up is louder!
