Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

My mum has just bought a Fiesta T-100. Apparantly only 10 are being produced. Going to have a look and a drive this weekend as tbh I really don't have a clue what it is....

rjkoneill have you received your CAIS yet? I've just ordered one from Mountune but it's on back order. :( Hope it's not a long wait.

no I cancelled for that reason. £200 is a lot of money to be without for me at the moment so I cancelled. will get it another time.

Definitely getting the MR200 kit fitted before the end of this year.

do want.

a lot

Got a slight noise from the steering, when the car is sat still and i turn the wheel there's a slight knock (can feel through steering wheel) and with the bonnet up i can hear a sort of air leak sound.
took it to evans halshaw and theyve got it booked in tomorow morning, saying they've not really seen this before and aren't sure what it is.
Also my exhaust heatshield is loose (not really related i don't think)

Anyone have any knowledge of what the problem might be with the steering?
Hopefully they can sort it tomorow.

Had car going sideways into a barrier earlier at 50mph. Was awesome!

Tyre change can't come any sooner! Need some grip in the wet as these have none at all, literally like being on a ice rink. Fun but very dangerous and can catch you out when you are not expecting it.

I've already got the 185 ;). Something I do want to look at at some point is a supercharger, however I'm going to leave that for the foreseeable future (unfortunately).

If you get supercharged you wont be able to drive the car anymore. Everything breaks and you get like 5mpg too. Gearbox, engine, tensioners, belt whining, SC oil change every 3k (£100 of oil!!) etc. Pointless tbh.

Could be the PAS pump or the rack itself? The ST is known to have a 'dodgy' power steering system, with the fluid over heating in the tank, etc.

Is a Flexi easy to fit?

Heard it's just a jack the car up and a few bolts?

May go plastidip my wheels today to hide the ghastly centres. Will post pics if i do!

Yeah it is. Its 4 bolts and you just have to unclip the sensor. Takes about 30mins tops. Well thats how long it took my mate and myself when I was holding the torch.

My AP Coilovers arrived :D

Get them fitted Tuesday after bank holiday sooo long to wait :(

How low have people got them set?? I wanna go as low as they will go on the back and low enough to get over speed bumps on the front.

Plus im driving up to Sunderland in November, 4 of us will be in the car plus all our baggage for a weeks stay so will be quite weighed down.

If the car is riding low will i be ok or would it be a good idea to change the ride hight before we go?? or should i be ok

Sorry for the noob question

I have APs and I have them very low at the front and I have passengers on a weekly basis. Not had that many issues getting over speed bumps but it does scrape a little on the really large bumps. I dont know how low it is at the front but its not at the lowest point. Dont forget that your springs will settle over time and the hieght of the car will change.

Cheers mate, have you adjusted them before and is it easy??

I adjusted them myself with a friend shortly after they were fitted. For the fronts you need a torx/star headed driver and the C spanner and the backs you just need the C spanner.
TBH its really easy to do and if youre not sure then get on fiestaSTOC and see if any members on there that live nearby will help you out. Im sure someone would help you. Also do it on a flat ground cause otherwise it will be out and count the threads so you get it matching.
Im prepping my car for Trax so I might see you then.

Are you fitting them yourself Pug106? It's really not that difficult tbh!

Adjusting is even easier, infact I managed to do the fronts with the wheels left on, just jack the car up slightly increasing the gap between the tyre and the arch and stick your hands in to start adjusting :p

Here's a few of mine. 2007 plate.
No performance mods as yet as I'm waiting to get an extra years no claims before changing to a mod friendly insurer.

Anyone know what i should be paying to have my steering rack replaced? took it to ford and they say it needs a new steering rack at £860 fitted.
Local garage says it may not need the steering rack, but wasn't too sure what it is. and kwik-fit say there's no problem, just air in the system,. lol.

Seen the rack for £119 +£50 refundable surcharge.

Really like that Chadd! Think the splitter is next on my list. Makes the front look so much more well...meaty! :D

Got the obligatory "scene" wind deflectors. Also, is that a chrome lip to your grill? Looks good on the black. Like!
