Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Hi guys my gf has a 07 fiesta st with a clicking wing mirror on the drivers side.. Any fix possible or is it a new mirror job? If so if I was to get a 2nd hand mirror that's blue can the outer shell be changed over easy? As her car is white.. Thanks

Fixed mine the other day.

You may need to play around with the sequence a bit to get yours right the first time.

I done this sitting inside the car with the window open, but if you open the door be careful you don't catch the control panel when closing!

Instructions:

take off the mirror control panel

disconnect the loom

set the mirror all the way forward to the front on the car

lock the car then plug the loom back in

the mirror should then fold all the way in

disconnect the loom and unlock the car then fold the mirror all the way forward again

lock the car and reconnect the loom

this time the mirror will only come to the normal open position

disconnect the loom again

unlock the car

fold the mirror in to the closed position

reconnect the loom

lock the car

the motor will then catch up with the mirror position and should be back to normal when you unlock the car and then lock it again no clicking on close.

B8 shocks fixed my rubbing issues. Yes, my front shocks were in a VERY bad way. Car feels great now. However it seems to be sitting a little high at the front (or low at the back) so ive had to drop my headlights to stop blinding people. Hopefully it will settle?

i cant fault Continental CS3's. Had goodyear F1's before, and they may have been slightly better in the wet, but overall CS3's win it for me.

Currently running Toyo T1-R and they have been spot on. Need some new rears fairly soon I think.

Cheers guys, going to give a few garages a ring and get a full set of CS3's priced up.

Just go easy. As with any bran new tyre they are **** for the first 500-1000 miles, and in this weather its even worse!

They are £108 each from Camskill atm, so id expect £120ish fitted at most garages.

I will be test driving a 2009 (58 plate) ST tomorrow with the intention of replacing my Zetec S Celebration. Has only 11,542 miles on the clock and is 7,995. Looks in great condition so hopefully will complete a deal tomorrow :)

Curbed one of my new alloys today. They have took one the road up in stavely and the grates are sticking out and one has caught my alloy.

Got to say though I am really ready for a change! Just insurance is being a *** on the next car I want...

So I posted a while a go that I was getting my Fiesta St. I had a few little problems which have now all been sorted, nearly.

So to begin with:

"Wall of text - Got car, had problems, got fixed"

Opening the window past 3/4 made a cracking sound, had the door card apart and one of the plastic holders the window sits on had snapped. Had this replaced.
The rear bumper 'mesh' was also missing which was a £20 job.

After the 1st week I noticed gear changes were becoming sticky once the car was warmed after driving 30+ miles. After doing some research I found this to be a common problem. Initially I had the linkage re-greased and the gearbox oil replaced but this didn't cause the problem to go away. Also with the car raised I found the two front tyres which were 6 months old had worn on the inside.

I had this repaired at a garaged for less than I expected - £75. And once this was done I scooted off to the tyres place for some new ones to be fitted as well as the tracking doing.
So the new tyres were on and the tracking guys comes over and asked if I had been in an accident before  Obviously this was news to me and required a new something to be fitted by the front passenger side wheel. So this was also sorted on that day and the tracking was able to be finished. Total for the day was around £190

So all of the above has now been done and the car was noticable easier to drive and I felt a little safer knowing I was driving in a straigt line.

Last week I had a new Long Life custom exhaust fitted which sounds the dogs danglies (although a little loud inside the car when you boot it) I asked for a raspy sound and the guys managed to get it spot on. I think they were more excited when they started it up than I was. :D

I need to have the driver side seat handle sorted as it snapped off. Not sure if this is an easy fix or not?

Well there we go. Owning a new(5years old) car and all its hazards in the full.

A few more items to go on the car before I will be completley happy including a new air filter maybe having the car lowered and continueing to remove the sliver F a previous owner stuck to the rear bumper.

Well over a year ago a trip around Europe was setup on FFST club forum which I jumped on straight away and booked all hotels. Bought stuff for the trip... I paid for a holiday for my mrs and kid so they can go away with her friends and there kids to Majorca at the same time in July.

Well anyway, get a email today just saying "hi mate you will need to cancel your bookings asap so you dont get charged".... Checked the forum straight away and seems they have completely cancelled it because a few members have decided they can't afford it anymore.

****ed off isn't the word for it.

Will have to look into more and do it with just me and a friend. Already had 3weeks holiday booked off for it so may aswell still try do something, especially now mrs will be on holiday....

What bulbs are people running??
I need a new headlight bulb and fog light bulb, turned fog on the other day and it just blew.
I'm probably going to try get all the front bulbs replaced but not sure what bulbs to get, and not too sure what type i need for the front, fogs and side bulbs.
i think it's H11 for fog, 501 for side and H4/H7 for the headlight.

Was looking at osram nightbreakers for all but but there's a thread on here with people saying they don't last too long.

Go to http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk and put in your info.

I used the Philips X-treme Vision bulbs on my old Zetec S for over a year, they are more geared towards increased visability rather than style (very little/no blue tint) but they made a massive difference. The standard bulbs on the ST are admittedly better than my old car, but they should still make a difference :)

Bought the ST500 i was looking at after a week off haggling, got it down from £5980 to £5500 :)

less than 4 year old motor with full leather and 60000 miles. Quite happy about that.

Full service history, seems pretty mint and well looked after, only 1 owner since new.

I think im most excited about the heated leather seats :D
