Who here owns a Fiesta ST?

Found a small problem with the car, neither of the front seats will fold forward to enter the rear seats of the car.

Google seems to suggest its quite a common problem, is there much involved in fixing it? Im not that fussed about driver one but I will occasionally have kids in the back.

Looking at it, the cable moves when i pull up the lever, but it seems almost locked somehow, is it possible to lock the seats so they cant be moved forward to allow access to the back?

If it was from a garage take it back for a repair. It's a common problem.

They're a very flimsy mechanism. Both mine broke in my Zetec when i had it because of stupid people getting into the back and being too forceful with it.

yup, if its stiff, dont push it harder, wiggle seat from side to side and push at the same time, then it comes undone rather than force it and break it like my GF (now ex :D) did.

I'd say it's slightly on the expensive side, not to bad though. I bought mine 6 months ago for under £7000. 08 plate (registered 09) with 22,000 miles on and ford approved ST185 on it.

I was unsure about buying a "modified" car at first but it's been simply brilliant, can't fault it. Had it looked at by a friends garage straight away after I bought it.

Started looking at lowering properly yesterday, I got a refund from my insurance of over £200 so I'm looking to put thaty towards springs etc. :)

I brought it from Brunel Ford mate so thats what I come to expect.

The fact that it basically looks brand new and only has had one owner and she was a women and under 12,000 miles was the selling point for me :).

What is your fuel consumption like on yours?

Did a 60 mile blast on little country roads there, great fun but I cant seem to find a comfortable seat position, Im constantly moving the seat back/forward, up down and havent found the sweet spot yet which is frustrating. I think the seats cry out for lumbar support which im sure my old ST had, but maybe im thinking of the Focus ST I had after it.

Feels quicker than I remember, Im not sure what tweaks or anything has been done to it but I think it sounds better than my old ST did as well.

Found a pic of my old ST!

Meh, really don't know what to go with. I was going to get springs and hope for a drop of 30-35mm but apparently a lot of people only see a 20mm difference. Is the ST already lowered by 10-15mm as standard?

I really want to get a 40-45mm drop but coilovers aren't suitable for round Sheffield, the roads are shocking for the most part. :(

Mine feels like a skateboard on Sheffield roads :D

Well mine's really low, but I'm not sure exactly what the previous owner used to lower it (Need to check really). Depending where in Sheff you are I could take you for a spin so you get a feel for how it would be as low as mine ?
