Who owns a Golf GTD / GTI / R?

A mate has had his delayed till November. After ordering a couple of months ago.

Trust me complaining to VW head office doesn't do jack. When I first bought my GTD. I took some insurance out ie tyres etc etc anyhow within 14 days I asked for them to be cancelled. They said no problem, I asked for a my refund in August and didn't get my money back till Dec of the same yr.

I was constantly in touch with VW head office as the dealership was beyond useless. I thought going through head office would get them to do it quicker but nope they are as useless as the stealership.

Yep I was livid also, but it got to a point where I was raising my voice to a poor lad that it clearly wasn't his fault. And when all was said and done the situation couldn't be turned around.

I was offered discounts on a standard R that could be delivered quickly but that's not what I wanted, or ordered. So took my deposit back and walked away.

One of those things I guess. Didnt see the point of complaining to VW HQ. Would just waste more of my time.

Are you sure you got a new 135i? they have been disconnected now as the 140i has taken its place? might be one they have in stock somewhere.

Brilliant fun to drive. Been told it's putting out around 200BHP but i'm yet to get it RR'd
 
I'm sure it's fun, are you on the mk2 oc forum?

The rad looks a bit small for a normal 20v install, usually people go for much longer ones so I'd keep an eye on the temps.

Also out of interest, what brakes is it running on?
 
When I had my S3 mapped at RTech there was a mk2 golf there, young kid had done a 1.8T conversion himself, which was top work, bumped into him a month or so ago and he had it putting out 300bhp :eek: Just something to think about ;):D

No, I'm not currently. The temps have been fine so far with the fan being on a manual switch I haven't needed to use it yet although not sat in much traffic yet. I know the discs and calipers have been upgraded but I couldn't tell you what too without having a look!

Test drive in the Golf R Estate booked for Saturday :eek:

Does anyone know what the Discover Pro gives you over and above the standard model apart from a bigger screen? I use Waze on my phone everywhere I go, and I think I've used the built-in nav in my S1 perhaps twice so I'm not really interested in it for navigation.

Is the ride with the 18" wheels and no DCC acceptable or is it on the firm side?
