Who owns a Golf GTD / GTI / R?

So has anyone on Mk7 golfs had the window switches just misbehave? When I press down usually don't the first few times, sometimes when they're partly down they'll stick or even go the wrong way! Every switch (even rears) seems affected and if you play a lot with a window it starts working ok. It's really annoying, I reset the switches but it doesn't do anything. Took it once to a dealer for another thing and mentioned it, they kind of fobbed me off telling me essentially I was confused by the half/full button, booked it in again for just that so hopefully they'll take a good look :/

But if it's common maybe it'll be easier to get them to take it seriously...

Yes my 14 plate GTD has this issue, where sometimes when I press the driver side window button it will go down all the way automatically like it's meant to. But sometimes it won't but last week I had the car at the dealers as my air con control unit needs to be replaced. Luckily for me as I was getting into my car, I pressed the window button on my drivers side and it wouldn't go down automatically. So quickly ran in, got a technician and he said that it's something he has seen before. The motor or something for the electric windows loses it memory. Also if you keep the button down even after it closes, it somehow resets the memory but past few days that doesn't work.

So it's booked in next week to get the air con fixed and a new drivers side window motor as well.

Thankfully it's happened within the warranty period, still have a yr left.

Hey guys

Could someone confirm what exactly is in the 'advanced telephone connection' as I'm struggling to find out. The armrest has nothing in it so it looks like they haven't added it.

Would appreciate a photo of it if possible

Cheers

The folding mirrors are , however the Sat Nav & Heated Seats (part of the Winter Pack) are only standard on MY17 R's i.e from build week 22 of 2016.

Well at least VW have finally seen sense by including the "normal" Sat Nav unit found in the GTI in the R. Took them long enough. :o

When I purchased my R I nearly laughed when the sales person explained that, for some bizarre reason, the R only has (had) the same media system as the base model...

But they have pushed up the base prices very slightly to compensate though.

Anyways i have specced the Tech Pack which will have the upgraded screen and Dynaudio for the upgraded sound ;)

I had mine on order for 3 months. Called for an update only to be told

"Not sure how to tell you this but your order has been cancelled"

No email or call thread to say where the request came from. After ranting for 5 mins I realised it was pointless. Car was gone, would have to get a standard one or join the queue again.

Got my deposit back and went an ordered a new 135i instead. Will be here in 2 weeks.

I'd be livid - are you going to complain/try and get some compensation? I would not be happy....

I bought a MK4 Golf GTI 2.0 last week. Was £600 from a bloke I know. It drives so good for it's age and has power to spare when I'm already doing 70.

The red oil light has come on though and there doesn't appear to be a reason for it. Plenty of oil, engine sounds normal.. he's coming over tomorrow to replace the sensors and if it still comes on I'll get an oil change.

Not sure yet if I'll keep it long term or just for a year or 2. I really want to love it but I'm holding off falling in love with it in case I can't get this oil pressure light to turn off.
