Who owns a Golf GTD / GTI / R?

Very few options are essential imo. So long as the base car has a reasonable amount of kit most of it is a "nice to have" but can live without thing.

Also because its a lease options add far too much to the monthlies. So just ended up with a fairly standard car, has 19" alloys, winter pack and blue paint. Originally had just ordered a base spec white car(as white is "free") so paid a little more just to not wait 6 months.

That's money well spend imo, the blue is much nicer. :)

Guys, is it OK to use Autosol on the exhaust tips of my GTI? They are black and would like to clean them up!

Used autosol for years on my exhaust tips. Can take a fair bit of elbow grease if they are properly caked. I used a sponge with the soft plastic scourer on before, just dont use anything that will scratch it. That 0000 ultra fine steel wool is usable.

Thanks chaps, yeah it looks like the previous owner didn't once clean them, so I'm going to have my work cut out...

You mean the ones that have the white part (not green)?

Fair will do. I only asked as I know the white ones are supposed to be non scratch.

Will get some Autosol on order. Cheers. :)

They're non scratch for crockery and china, as they’re made of a material which is softer, as opposed to the green one which is harder.

Your steel exhaust tips will be harder than both, though :)

Edit: lol not *China*

Jeez, got our reg number now but the lease company are refusing to deliver to our house only to the wife's head office(who sort the lease deals out). Awaiting the results of the HR lady arguing with them. May have a 200 mile trip to get it.

*edit, delivery Tuesday :D gonna book it off so can do some running in

Gents,

Looking at retrofitting cruise to my '11 GTI. Seen some conflicting info about whether I can or not - there's been mention of needing a "highline" steering control module. Has anyone done this, and can shed any light...?

Thanking you.
