Who's in to electric RC cars?

Anywhere else other than HobbyKing I can order this stuff from?

Estimated delivery date = 6-39 days. Coming from Hong Kong apparently!

Did you check if they have what you need at there Europe warehouse? I've used them loads of times and delivery is normally about 5-9 working days. Otherwise Modelsport etc do a wide selection of batteries but your be paying a lot more.

I've got a few RC cars

Restored Optima Mid Custom - FibreLyte carbon fibre everything. Lunsford titanium turnbuckles. Option ball diffs and option front one way. Lazer FS shocks, wheels and schumacher mini pins.

This started life as a new Vajra kit but is now almost a new Egress. Again all FibreLyte parts, Lunsfords - Avante Black Special wheels - will be getting FS2 shocks.

Also have:-

Tamiya Avante 2011 (unbuilt in box and will remain so)
Tamiya Avante Black Special (had to build one Avante from new)
Tamiya Egress (Built from a Vajra kit so probably correct to call it a modified Vajra)
Tamiya Stadium Blitzer (EZrun 9T brushless with Lipo - gearbox on borrowed time)
Axial SCX10 (Jeep Cherokee with working winch - Spektrum DX6i sprung throttle mod)
Tamiya Hornet JUN Wanatabe (Under my desk in work for my daughters birthday)
Tamiya DB01R (unbuilt and considering using to start racing again)
Team Durango DNX408 (1/8 Rallycross buggy again for maybe taking up racing again)

Have plans for a new Clodbuster and a Wild One when its released - Wild One was my first RC. No plans for any more after that :D

just took my micro rs4 out of the box after so many years, would really want to fix it so if anyone could help, it would be much appreciated.

nothing has been changed since i bought it, and was a complete noob back then (still am :rolleyes), so i dont know if all the parts should work together.

here are the list of parts.

ESC - Tazer 15T (is this good or bad?)
Receiver - Airtronics Super Micro 2CH. Receiver (again goo or bad?)
the remote control thingy is a Airtronics MX-A
battery is a Team Losi Sport 7.2V 1100Ni-MH
everything is stock with the chassis, except some purple bits that connect the wheels together (assuming these are alloys)

i think the problem is the battery pack, the charger came with an american plug so i bought a converter from the rainforest but it didnt change anything.

could someone spec me a battery pack/charger that will fit the micro rs4?

thanks

Looks like I've gone an auction route instead. Found all the same equipment, from the UK - about a tenner cheaper!

scam or its not actually in the uk.

never had a hobbyking order take more than 13 days even when it was from the international warehouse

Funnily enough i am, have a tg10 at home missing an engine - need a replacement and cant find a suitable one.. HELP.

A ta03f thats missing an engine, cant find my charger or batterys either... hmm

anyone had any experiences with importing RC Cars into the UK?

going back to Philippines next month and thinking of getting the RC there but was also wondering if i have to pay any custom fees when i get back to the UK.

also, is HSP a good brand of RC Cars?

Have a ta03f, have a schumacher fh1000 speed controller, cant seem to find any of my old batterys or motor for reference, i know that the smaller the turn the 'faster' the car but the less torque.. What sort of motor would you recommend, brushed or brushless?

Cant get over how cheap the motors are..

general question here guys.

when you started getting into RC cars, did you start with on-road (tour/drift) or off-road (buggy/truggy/monster truck)?

still can't decided what to get once i get the money, loving the look of drifting but at the same time also loving the looks of taking jumps and running on dirt. so it's gonna be between a drift car or a buggy.

Started with an off road buggy, they can be modded to perform well on road. Switched to a touring car as most club racing is indoors in the week.

Currently running a cyclone tc touring car and an rc10 b3 at my local club which I happen to help run!

We run touring cars and buggys with a couple of ramps put down check out the site

just looking for something to play with in the front garden and at the park.

Righto,

My batteries have come with Bullet connectors.

I don't understand how they are meant to connect to the car.

What do the batteries normally connect to?
I can see that there are available female to bullet connectors for these?

if I get one of these, what shouild it connect to? the ESC??

It should connect to the battery leads from the ESC. if your ESC doesn't have the same connectors, you will have to change them on the battery or the ESC or get a converter (not recommended).

Its ok. I found a connector that came with the car. It turned one of the connectors from male to female. I was able to connect it up.

Unfortunately, it looks like I hit a curb (again!) after going about 30MPH on its side.

A part of plastic near one of the wheels snapped (damnit!)

The guy on the the auction site, said he had already fixed this part of the car. However, I'd guess that he glued it on instead of actually fixing it. As it came off with only a little pressure from the curb.

I'll be buying some spares for the future now I know how brittle these are!
