Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

Well after about 10 days of my parcel not turning up from Evri and the tracking just saying delayed, I got in touch with the retailer to have it resent, low and behold 2 days later magic happened. Evri delivered the replacement parcel and somehow had managed to find my original parcel.

Oh joy I have 2 parcels due by Evri and I thought Yodel were bad.

I have 2 parcels scheduled from RM today to but we have about 3cm of snow so no chance of thatr now

Not defending Evri, but this happens a lot with other couriers/mail senders and has been so for years.

Ex

The RM sack of letters - a member of my group of litter wombles found it.

It's a sackable (pun) offence. I remember about 30 years ago, there was a spate of postal thefts in the village I used to live in. Friends and family were told to send birthday cards in brown envelopes. A friend's mum was going through divorce and worried any legal paperwork would have got lost.

Found a couple of bin bags in ditches outside the village in different locations with ripped envelopes with things taken like gift vouchers. Postie got the sack (pun)

Wife was complaining a parcel from River Island hadn’t arrived, she checked her emails as she didn’t don’t know who was transporting it, it was no surprise Evri and their tracking data hit a brick wall a few days ago, a quick call to River Island and they instantly refunded it and said they’d had a lot of problems with Evri.

Bought an expensive monitor from a competitor who used Evri, was due by 10pm on the 6th. It didn't show up. Spoke to competitor, was assured delivery would be the following day by 1pm. Didn't show up.

Contacted again, told that the monitor had gone missing, and that they would issue a replacement but would have to wait another week. Sent by Evri again.

Behold 2nd monitor arrives by different courier within 48hrs. 1st monitor now showing as at depot. It's ludicrous.

That's the classic I've had on two expensive items being delivered kept by DHL-Local (formerly UK Mail)

Does anyone here receive certain type of letters by RM that have had the corners lifted? It has been a regular here with me for years.

Had a delivery from Evri this week with perishable food items in.......left in my general rubbish bin........ which is clearly filled with bags full of dog ****............. Disgusting.

Thought about this thread earlier, when in spite of the world ending due to 6 inches of snow, the door bell went and it was the Evri man.

Yodel have just pinged me to cancel my expected delivery.

Lols

We had an Evri delivery turn up last week at 10:40 at night. They just left it by the front door, photographed and darted. If it wasn't for the dog barking it would have spent the night out there. I admire the dedication of the delivery dude but if that's necessary then they're got serious problems.

The issue is, they have huge demand.

The solution is to charge more for delivery, then pay staff overtime at higher rates funded by the temporary higher charges, to do the increased workload.

So basically the decent worker should say something like, Christmas is good, they pay double during that time, i do work extra but the money is triple for December.

So now i am happy that, firstly the good worker has this opportunity to make more money, and all it costs me is a few £ more per package for delivery fee, in exchange no issues.

However the reality is, they just hire any donkey, who does things like shown in the video. Throw on bad management.

Depends on where the depots are. Or could be like my council’s binmen - wimps. My council is urban and don’t go round when it snows. Yet the council I used to live in is about 20-23 times bigger, has lots of small villages in remote areas. Collected bins during beast of the east.

Evri are great here, friendly "mature" drivers, a lady and a gentleman, not had a problem. As for RM I would like to see them fold, greedy and overpaid, but on strike. I use them as little as possible.
