Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

By no means conclusive, but I noticed on the packaging that the Kestrel 48 rucksack I had ordered, that was received on the same day the other Kestrel 68 (now missing) was due to be delivered you can see what appears to be an obvious rip in the cardboard box caused by a finger poking at it.

Presumably they thought as the two parcels were identical that I wouldn't mind if one went missing. Thieving scrotes.

I told Gooutdoors I wasn't best impressed by Evri and they didn't really care, saying they don't get many missing items.

And as for using another courier, it doesn't actually give you the option depending on what day/time you order it.

Oh yes this is mine a set of venetian blinds the fixings were missing unsurprisingly. Good ol' hermes.

Well I'll take back for the moment what I said about DHL-Local...The tracked delivery was bang on time and the driver was really nice.

It was a tin of paint though and not expensive items like those that had previously just disappeared when they arrived at their local depot.

You mean like PlayStations. Yes thats happened to me (hermes as well, amazon use their own logistics nowadays)

lol I ordered a phone that was never delivered. The picture of the delivery was a mail room with lots of parcels. I contacted the company last Tuesday and told them to look at the picture, not heard anything. I have now contacted my credit card for a full refund.

Why? You should have contacted the company you ordered the phone from, and explained the situation, and got a refund from them....

I seen a documentary I think it was recently where some reporters went to some auction houses where stuff was being sold off that Evri said couldn't be delivered. The reporters found clear addresses on some of the stuff so it looks like no attempt was made to deliver. Their business practice deffo sounds dodgy.

A lot of parcels get undelivered because they get lost or delayed long enough that the receiver gets a refund from the sender and the sender claims their money back through the delivery company. This means, despite the clear address, they have a parcel no one wants and has already been paid for, so they auction it off.

Then surely it should go back to the sender.

Then surely it should go back to the sender.

In the above scenario the sender has already claimed their money back from the delivery company, in some instances this means the sender agrees the item is no longer theirs as they were paid for it or in other cases, the sender doesn't want to spend time or money on managing lost parcels.

Had to do the local Evri drivers job for him today. While delivering the mail I keep finding he had just left parcels on peoples door steps. I knocked and most opened their doors so looks like he just dumped and run without knocking.

Had a very patient Evri driver on my doorstep today after I left her there for a few seconds after having to travel from the garden to the front of the house.

New Pinter2 delivered without fuss.

I had TNT send me a photo of my front door saying they couldn't deliver the passport. However, we were both home and the builders working on the front said no one turned up and they'd been there since early. It's a mystery!

I wonder if there is a region performance chart and if no, perhaps one should be done because Evri and DPD great here. DHL-Local the worst.
Same here (North East), DPD have always been great and the latest Evri guy is a decent bloke who is very happy to discuss the finer points of how disorganised the company is :D

Had a few instances, parcel left on the doorstep (not bothered to ring the doorbell) even though I was in all day, only knew when I get a photograph via email?!

I do struggle to comprehend, if making the effort to take a pic, surely ding the doorbell?

Fortunate to have decent neighbours and we always look out for each other, so parcels sitting out in obvious places, we take them in and drop them round etc.

One courier, took a pic, I'm sure took it away with them as part of scam. It was a power pack and hardly worth stealing but the tosspot stole (no doubt because it was quite a weighty parcel but worth naff all).

Really depends on the delivery person, our EVRi deliverer has always been courteous and actually delivers the parcel without dropkicking or launching it into the air.

But they seem to be third-party deliverers? They don't drive a EVRi van or have any form of company identification, EVRi could be outsourcing too?

I disagree that it depends on your local driver as they are the last link of many in the chain. There are ample opportunities for parcels to get crushed/lost/kicked into the long grass, well before they reach your local driver. And they are bloody good at that!!

If not your local driver, then it's either your local county-level depot/country region. I had no issues with EVRi delivering my SteamDeck in one piece, no packaging damage at all when we had a 'shake up' of delivery drivers.
My experience with Hermes (pre-EVRi) hasn't always been good though; notably when they registered picking up my parcel from my property via the tracking status, even though we have security cams that clearly showed no one even drove up to our property - this was a huge headache as this was tracking for an electronic component I had sold to someone. I still wouldn't opt for EVRi to have my parcels delivered to be honest  In terms of delivering though, in the last 2-3 years, EVRi's service, in my area at least, has drastically improved.
