Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

Just for a bit of balance....I've always found Hermes/Evri to be exceptional. Sold my car a few months ago, but before doing so, I took off some of the aftermarket bits and sold them separately via owners groups/forums. Evri have a drop-off point at the local Co-op, half a mile away. So it was just a case of entering the address and paying online, walking down the shop with whatever I was sending packaged up, printing off the label using the code emailed to me, sticking it on, handing it to the cashier, and getting a receipt with a tracking number. I must have sent 7 or 8 parcels, and every single one of them arrived as intended on time, and in some cases, quicker than expected...even when not paying extra for the next day services.

Never had trouble receiving parcels sent by Evri either. It's the same courier every time, so he evidently works our area...always polite, friendly and turns up exactly when predicted by the tracking. I can only think that the service level is regional and dependant on who your local courier is.

Parents just had an evri delivery of 3 parcels. 1st was supposed to arrive 3 days ago, the 2nd wasn't supposed to arrive until tomorrow, and the 3rd as far as they knew hadn't been collected from the sender yet

Was expecting a delivery with Evri on Monday. Never turned up. On Tuesday the tracker still said out for delivery, due Monday. Today they email saying that it's delayed (no ****!). Supposedly they will deliver it tomorrow.

Someone I know on Facebook posted that they had Evri deliver to them the other day and it was left "in a secure location". Their own photo showed it laying in the middle of his front lawn

Had a DPD parcel delivered at 12:00. Photo shows parcel between my neighbour’s wheelie bins. Arrived about 30 mins after that. No sign of it anywhere. If neighbour put stuff in the bins, she would have put parcel by my front door, which we share a communal exterior entrance.

Asked if she seen parcel. Nope. Hardly anyone goes down where the bins are as last of the row of flats.

Why couldn’t the driver ring the neighbour? At least it’s behind a locked door then.

Won’t be happy if DPD blames me!

Yes Evri are myhermes there’s no way of getting away from it and it’s laughable to think they can fool us. If Gary Glitter changed his name tomorrow the only thing that changes is the name!

I’m not sure why this thread hasn’t been merged with the myhermes are awful thread?

Thought I had an issue during the week with Evri, but turned out that the customers request for a co-op drop was fine until Sandra from the co-op kicked off at the parcels size and refused it. 50cmx35cmx35cm...

Evri returned to local depot and kept me informed.

Was delivered to the customer a day later.

I had a delivery that was on its way on the Monday, since then it's just stuck delayed but no update since. Annoyingly I had another Evri parcel delivered to a different address that was very quick and seamless.

I think my local courier has either quit or died/got ill. Have a number of parcels sent on different days last week all saying "delayed due to major event" once they got to the "on its way to the local courier" stage.

Had a delivery from something sent later (early this week) though, yesterday. I asked the driver and he said he doesnt know as he has been called in from miles away to help.
When do they intend on delivering the stuff from last week then...

We have delivery! It arrived at 5:20 today. He just left it in the porch without ringing the bell. Maybe he knew it was 3 days late and didn't want to risk facing anyone. I only knew something had been delivered when I saw him on the camera

Photo of parcel was poor as it could have been anyone's bins. Someone down my road with the same 2nd house number (example I live at 40 and parcel was put by 20) as me hand delivered it to me.

The problem I find is that the house number is quite small on the postage label, yet the postcode is in a font about 10 times larger than the house number.

This applies to all courier firms. If they put the house number by the enlarged postcode, parcels won't
