Why are Evri are so absolutely abysmal?

Royal Mail strikes are not helping, I’ve had to use Evri the last few weeks but have to say they have been fine so far. Only a matter of time though!
Some companies are reverting to couriers as not trusting RM with about 6 more strike days this month. One of the companies my friend uses for her vape pen pods has increased the qualifying amount to spend by £5 to cover the increased costs of using couriers. Not an issue for her as just buys another pack. There must be other companies that upped their free p&p due to this.

Seriously ignore the last posting days on the back of Christmas stamps, as were printed way before strikes are an issue. Last RM post will be 23rd and one after that will be 28th as 27th is a BH as Xmas Day is on a Sunday..

One of my mum's friends always posts her cards on the last day of postage and some years, we had her card on 3rd Jan!

I know the figures RM are saying for losses. But the reputational damage is crazy. I no longer use RM for anything urgent now. Just too difficult to keep up with strikes

RMs UK delivery arm is haemorrhaging money without these strikes. Loads of companies will drop them now and I would imagine that all these striking employees will be unemployed fairly soon. I sympathise with them but fundamentally they are shooting themselves in the foot. RM will just kill their UK arm and their shareholders will be happy about it.

I disagree.

If you think things are bad now just imagine what postal delivery would look like without RM. Their competitors don't have the capacity and network that RM has and will never cope with Christmas. The sheer quantity of mail will mean your parcel will take weeks to arrive (if at all) through other companies.

Do you really think they'll make 120,000 people unemployed? That would be a disaster for the government, the economy and the UK.

If RM was to go you'll soon wish it wasn't.

I don't think any of us are wishing a company to go bust. But they are losing money and they are private.

The couriers can undercut RM and pick and choose what they transport. Their workers are lower paid.

But if the employees are striking for more cash but there's no cash.. Something will have to give.

Back into public ownership? Bail out?

RM will be bailed out if needed no chance would the powers that be let it disappear.

Also no other company would have any interest in picking up the letter side of things.

No one wants RM to go bust but the UK arm is losing massive amounts of money and being propped up by their European business. No sane company will keep that up for long.

The government might step in to keep letters arriving but that will soon change to being a very slow service with massive layoffs still.

Tried to contact both yodel and evri about my parcel. Both useless.

So my parcel is sat with no delivery date, it could be next week. It could be weeks. Its probably never.

How can they not have an estimated date?

Probably lost isn't it.

Don’t. The last few days my wife and I been saying how rubbish they are! Normally the parcels are delayed, or randomly show up when you’re not even expecting it, or in some cases not at all.

Nightmare. DPD on the other hand, second to none from my experience

Yodel have for some reason sent my package back to the retailer.
My retailer are refunding me, sending out a new one.

I asked if could choose a different courier "won't the same just happen again?" they said they can't, it's automated.

Easier to order a used item off ebay at this rate!

DPD have their bad days as well. The company i work for uses them to send our goods. We have a one hour window for collections which is the same time every day Monday to Friday. They never collected Monday or Wednesday and might not have even collected today. There are missed collections every week.
